Air Mail
Air Mail is a standard shipping method provided by post office, and it is available for sending packages all over the world.

We also offer registered service for customers who prefer more reliable delivery for an additional fee of 410yen. Average delivery time is similar to regular Air Mail, but your signature will be required for delivery, offering more assurance. Also, for packages sent to the United States, USPS offers online tracking for Air Mail packages that are registered.

Shipping within Japan (JP Express Pelican Service)
We use JP Express Pelican Service for sending packages
domestically within Japan for a flat shipping charge of 399yen.
Usual delivery time is 1-2 days, and your signature is required for delivery.

Long Is It Really Going to Take?
In case your package does not arrive within the average span of time listed above, please contact your post office and also the customs office to see if they could look it up for you. Based on our experiences, customs process is the most frequent cause of the delay, especially in European countries. In case they are not able to provide you with information about your package right away, then contact CDJapan Customer Support (infor@cdjapan.co.jp). We will make an inquiry from our end as well.

Notes:
For orders above 2Kg, orders consisting only of printed matters (books, calendars, and posters) are possible. Max weight is 2Kg for orders including any other type of item such as CD, DVD, apparel, or collectible.
There are following two options available for orders containing future releases with different release dates. You can make your selection before you finalize your order.
Ship When All Items Have Been Released
If you select this option, we will wait until all items have been released
before shipping the order. For example, if your order contains an item to
be released next month and another one to be released two months later, the
order will be shipped two months later, after both of the items have been
released.
Ship Future Releases As They Are Released
If you select this option, we will ship future releases as they are
released. There will be additional shipping charge for shipping items
separately. *Please note that this option is available only for orders
containing future releases.
Online tracking is available for orders
shipped by EMS. After we ship your order, the tracking number will appear
in "Order Status/Details/History" in Customer Account. Click on it to track
your package at Japan Post website.
Please note that it may take 1-2 days before online tracking becomes available. Until then, the following message may appear, but please disregard it and try again later: "The EMS item number was not found. Please check the item number once again."
Once your package reaches your country, you will also be able to track it
at the post office/courier in your country.
For Registered Air Mail, Air Mail, and for Economy Air (SAL), online tracking is not available. If you prefer rapid and reliable delivery of your package, we recommend EMS.
Important Notes:
Many of our European customers report that packages sent by EMS are more frequently stopped at the customs and they have to pay customs charges. For this reason, many customers in Europe prefer Air Mail and SAL, because it is less likely for packages to be stopped if they select these shipping methods.
De nombreux clients vivant en Europe nous ont signale que les colis expedies en EMS sont lourdement taxes par les douanes locales. Malgre le temps d¡Çattente plus long, nous vous recommandons fortement les envois Airmail et SAL parce qu¡Çils ne sont quasiment pas stoppes en douane.
Muchos de nuestros clientes de Europa se quejaron de los envios en EMS ya que tuvieron que pagar fuertes impuestos de aduana. A pesar de que cueste tiempo, le recomendamos los envios en Airmal y SAL ya que casi no se les paran en la aduana.
Customs office of the country where an order is sent to will consider the recipient of
the package a personal importer. Customs duties and import VAT may be levied against
the value of items included in the package according to regulations and laws of the country.
If that happens, it will be the responsibility of the recipient of the package to complete
the payment of these in order to receive the package.
Payments of customs duties are collected when packages are delivered, but depending on how it
is handled in your area, you may need to visit your depot or post office to complete your
payment and to receive your package.
Minimum Values
In some countries and regions, there may be a specific value of items above which customs
duties are levied. For example in EU countries, the customs office levies customs duties
if the value of items is 22 Euro or more (approximately 3,500yen, when 1 Euro is about
160 Japanese yen). Customers may choose to place their orders in small parts so the value of
items included in each shipment does not exceed such values. Please contact your customs
office for further information.
Please note that it won¡Çt be possible for us to underdeclare the value of any package. To ensure that packages are delivered without problems or unnecessary delays, CDJapan complies with all regulations and laws.
Clearance Fees
Couriers may charge clearance fees independently from the customs charges and tax,
and if that happens, it will be the responsibility of the recipient to complete the payment
along with customs duties.
Also, clearance fees might be different depending on shipping methods. In UK, for example, Parcels Force handles packages sent by EMS, while Royal Mail handles packages sent by Air Mail and SAL. Parcel Force charges "Parcel Force Clearance Fee" in addition to VAT, and it is more expensive than the amount that Royal Mail charges. While EMS is quicker and generally much more reliable as online tracking is available, you may take these additional costs into your consideration as well.
For information on how much these fees might be in your country, please contact your post office.
Sometimes, packages are returned to us by post office as undeliverable. This means either the shipping address was incorrect, attempts by the local post office/courier to deliver the package failed, the package was unclaimed, the recipient did not pay customs tax, or the package was refused by the recipient.
We refund only the item price subtotal when an order is returned to us as undeliverable. In case the payment method of the order is either International Postal Money Order or Cash, the item price subtotal will be added as Frequent Shopper Points on your Customer Account.
Items that have been returned to us as undeliverable will be restocked immediately, and we are not able to ship them again. If you would still like to purchase the items, please place your order online again.
We send shipping confirmation e-mails upon shipping orders. It mentions the span of time estimated for delivery. If you do not receive your package within the span of time, please call your local depot/post office to see if they might be holding the package for you. In case you are absent at the time of delivery, the package may be taken back to the depot/post office until you claim it. Sometimes a note with contact information will be left in your absence, but occasionally the postal service/courier may simply repeat attempts to deliver the package without leaving any note to make you aware that attempts have been made.
If your shipping address is an APO/FPO address (US military base), please either select Registered Air Mail, Air Mail, or SAL as shipping method of your order. EMS parcels can not be delivered into US military bases. Also, there may be restrictions on types of items that can be delivered into the military bases. Before placing your order, please make sure that the items included in the order are not restricted or prohibited.
