The actual delivery time will vary for the following reasons.
1. Local situation of the country (postal strikes, political situations, natural disasters)
2. South American countries or deliveries to islands naturally takes longer.

DHL Multi Line Entry Charges
DHL's "multiline entry" charges may apply to customs clearance for shipments containing 6 or more lines of products. (Depending on the country, items with the same HS code may be counted as a single product)
This applies to all countries; however, the charge varies by country, so please contact DHL in your country for details. As the consignee is responsible for the payment, please make sure to pay the fee if you are charged.

About Remote Area Delivery

FedEx International Priority
With FedEx International Priority, you can send packages across the world to over 220 countries and territories. Moreover, FedEx provides an online tracking service, so you can easily keep track of the package status any time at your fingertips. FedEx offers top-quality, reliable service and the rates available to CDJapan customers represent great value for money.

About Remote Area Delivery

FedEx Pak
The service is identical to Priority. Orders meeting the conditions below will be eligible for FedEx Pak, which offers the same service as Priority with lower shipping charges.
- The package weight is under 2.2 kg
- The package size is less than 31cm(L) x 40cm(W) x 12.4cm(H)
- The total amount of the order (item price + shipping charge) is less 50,000 yen
Notes Priority(Pak) will only appear in the shipping option for orders satisfying all conditions above. In such case, FedEx Priority will not appear. When the conditions of your order changes from order modifications, the more suitable option will be chosen. *Even if you selected FedEx Pak during checkout, your shipping method may update to FedEx Priority due to actual weight and package size. In such case, we will charge you for FedEx Priority.
FedEx International Connect Plus (FICP)
CDJapan now offers shipping via FedEx International Connect Plus (FICP). Compared to FedEx Priority, the delivery time for FICP takes slightly longer but FICP offers a more cost-friendly shipping rate. So if you value money over speed, this may be for you.

Singapore
In Singapore, FICP packages are basically sent to delivery lockers. If the item does not fit in the locker, the consignee can arrange a request on FedEx Delivery Manager (FDMi) to have the package to be delivered to your door .
You'll receive notifications for locker deliveries and FedEx Delivery Manager (FDMi) by SMS, so you must add your mobile number to your customer account to get updates.

FedEx International Economy is an economical shipping method suitable for less time-sensitive purchases. FedEx offers the same top quality, reliable service, as FedEx International Priority, but the rates are more economical.
Tracking Number will become available when your order is shipped, and it will be included in the shipping confirmation email sent to you automatically. FedEx International Economy is available only in these countries.

EMS (Express Mail Service)
EMS (Express Mail Service) is the fasted service provided by post office, and it is available in many countries as listed in this page . In some countries, courier consigned by the post office may carry out the actual delivery. For example, they are delivered by Chronopost in France and by Parcel Force in the UK.

EMS Service to the U.S.
As EMS service to the U.S. remains suspended due to the tariffs and there’s no clear timeline for resumption, we will stop accepting EMS shipments to the U.S.
Air Mail Small Packet
Air Mail Small Packet is a standard shipping method provided by post office, and it is available for sending packages all over the world. Do not include any kind of delivery confirmation and insurance! For figure/good products over 7000 yens, it's not available.
Registered Air Mail Small Packet
Registered Air Mail Service Termination
Register Airmail service will be suspended due to system changes at Japan Post (We plan to introduce international ePacket Light, replacing Register Airmail, around March 2026.) We will no longer be able to accept new orders by Register Airmail for orders placed after December 1st, 2025.
We also offer registered service for customers who prefer more reliable delivery for an additional fee of 460yen. Limited insurance is included. Some countries provide full tracking information until the package reaches its final destination, while others are updated up to a certain point. See the tracking situation for your country from here . Average delivery time is same as regular Air Mail Small Packet, but your signature will be required for delivery, offering more assurance.
Registered Air Mail Small Packet Label Number will become available when your order is shipped, and it will be included with the shipping confirmation email you receive automatically.

SAL (Surface Air Lift) Small Packet
SAL (Surface Air Lift) Small Packet is an economical shipping method provided by post office, available in many countries as listed in this page. For figure/good products over 7000 yens, it's not available. When we actually package your order and it exceeds the max dimensions or max weight for SAL, the shipping method will need to be changed to EMS or FedEx. If that happens, we will contact you by email for your approval before actually shipping your order and charge you for it. Some calendars are not rolled so we can't ship them through this method. Do not include any kind of delivery confirmation and insurance! This economic shipping method is not a priority. Therefore, it may takes 7-10 days to be dispatched by Japan Post. SAL Small Packet is unavailable for the following countries: Australia, Greenland, Denmark, Germany, South Korea, Norway, Hungary, Finland and Poland
Registered SAL Small Packet
We also offer registered service for customers who prefer more reliable delivery for an additional fee of 460yen. Limited insurance is included.
However note that the tracking information may not update frequently for Registered SAL Small Packet! It depends of your country post service system. For a full tracking information, please use EMS shipping.
This economic shipping method is not a priority. Therefore, it may take 7-10 days to be dispatched by Japan Post. Most of the times there will be only two updates : one when entering customs office and the next when the package arrives to your address. Also some countries are still under a trial stage at Japan Post only providing partial tracking information such as up to the customs office. See the tracking situation for your country from here. Average delivery time is same as regular SAL Small Packet, but your signature will be required for delivery, offering more assurance.
Packages sent by SAL Small Packet are forwarded through a combination of air and surface to make the economic shipping charge possible. Post office forwards a SAL cargo once it is full. So, depending on the timing and situation, it may take a lot of extra time for the package to arrive.

Max Weight for SAL Small Packet: 2Kg (5Kg for orders consisting only of printed matters, including books and calendars)

Registered SAL Small Packet is unavailable for the following countries: Australia, Greenland, Denmark, Germany, South Korea, Norway, Hungary, Finland and Poland
SAL Parcel Post
SAL Parcel Post is a suitable shipping method offered by the post office in many countries as listed in this page for sending large orders if you are not in a hurry enough to select EMS or FedEx. Unlike regular Air Mail Small Packet and SAL Small Packet, there are no dimensional or weight restrictions. So, it is possible to send anything available at CDJapan using this shipping method. Also, online tracking is available for SAL Parcel Post and your signature will be required.
This economic shipping method is not a priority. Therefore, it may takes 7-10 days to be dispatched by Japan Post.
In summary, it is an alternative to EMS and FedEx, if you do not prefer them for cost reasons or for any other reason.
On the other hand, it is more expensive compared to Air Mail Small Packet and SAL Small Packet. In terms of average delivery time and how the post office handles them, it is essentially the same as the Registered SAL. So, wherever Air Mail Small Packet and SAL are available, this shipping method does not appear as an option. This shipping method appears as one of the shipping methods only when your order exceeds the dimensional or weight restrictions for Air Mail Small Packet and SAL Small Packet.

Important Notification About Box Sizes
In 2016 postal services enforce restrictions on how large packages are allowed be for Air Mail Small Packet and SAL, as a part of their efforts to control costs that affect postage. On the other hand, manufacturers of many products such as anime action figures do not necessarily take this into account. Because of this, some products prove to exceed size restrictions when they become available for shipment, because there is no packaging box in existence that would fit them perfectly. So, we investigated a large number of different products and their sizes statistically. Then we custom ordered packages boxes so that more products fit in them perfectly so that size restrictions are not exceeded as frequently as it used to be.
Important Notification About Dimensional Weight
About Dimensional Weight (Volume Weight Fee)
Shipping fees are generally based on package weight. Including a poster requires a larger box, which increases weight.
Additionally, DHL + FedEx International Priority, Priority(Pak), charges a volume weight fee affected by the amount of space that it occupies, rather than the actual weight. If the dimensional weight is heavier than the actual weight of your package, your order will be applicable for the dimensional/volume weight fee. In this case, we will contact you by email in the shipping process informing about the additional charges.
Dimensional weight is also applied to orders that include external bonus posters. This does not affect regular orders without posters and will not be charged if your order is no longer applicable for the poster. When dimensional weight applies, shipping fees typically increase.
Normally, we use compact packaging materials when sending regular sized CDs and DVDs as pictured below.
However, to send a first press bonus poster together with the product, we must use a large box as pictured below.
To address the impact of dimensional weight and minimize unnecessary increases in shipping costs, we introduced an Optimal Box Selection Algorithm, which selects the most appropriate packaging based on the contents of each order.
