Affiliate Program Open Beta and Goods Page
Mar 26,2008
Hey all,

This week we've got two massive new additions to CDJapan; the Affiliate Program Open Beta and all-new Goods page.

Affiliate Program Open Beta

Do you enjoy CDJapan so much that you just can't help talking about it on your blog? Well turn that love into savings or cold, hard cash with the CDJapan Affiliate Program Open Beta.

How does it work? You post links to pages on CDJapan in your own webpage or blog, and when your readers come to CDJapan and place an order, you receive 5% to 7% of their order subtotal (minus shipping charges and tax) as either CDJapan points or cash through PayPal. You can even earn commission on your own orders by clicking your affiliate links before shopping.

We're still taking the bubble wrap off of our brand-new system, but while we continue to squash bugs and refine the interface we'd like to invite you to check it out--you'll still receive the same commission you will once we move out of Beta. And rest assured, we've done thorough testing beforehand so chances are you won't even see a bug. We just ask for your patience should one occur.

If you love anime figures, toys, and costumes, you'll love the brand-new CDJapan Goods page. We've added over 5,000 new collectibles in a variety of genres including new figures from your favorite anime series, traditional Japanese dolls, collectible cards, costumes, toy trains, Choro-Q, and even plastic models from cars to giant robots.

You can view the new CDJapan goods page at the link below or from the new tab at the top of every page on our website:

The All-New CDJapan Goods Page

And remember, if you're thinking about joining the Affiliate Program, talking about the new goods page or any of the sales and promotions we're running this month is a great way to get people to come to CDJapan!

That's all for this week, have a great Wednesday!

omg...no bleach figures...
a must for the future for bleach addicts like me :)
by wohjai : Mar 27,2008
v.v> Yeah, we're limited right now in what we can carry but we most certainly hope to increase our selection in the future.

shawurai and Jackson> Thanks a lot! We usually get at least ten new items a day so definitely keep your eyes peeled.

wohjai> Yeah, I don't know why we don't cary Bleach but hopefully that will be remedied when we add more companies to the page.

Artists and sleeves cards, ONEGAI!!!
Hello again my friend Dan.
I`m back and with a new 2 questions:

1- There is a possibility that on the goods page included cards collection of our favorite artists, especially from UFA?

2- Ah! if it is possible too, "Card Sleeves" to store and protect these. Maybe if you tell Nagaoka brand they have something that fits perfectly.

See ya...

Hi Ken007,

1- cards are going to be difficult for us for a little while. We just started the goods section so we only cary what the companies we've contracted with do. I think, once we sign some more companies and really establish the section we'll be able to get smaller manufacturers like card manufacturers, but that will be a little while.

2- Card sleeves are definitely possible. I don't know if our manufacturer carries them, but they should be a lot easier to add to the catalog than the cards themselves. I'll talk to the people in charge once they're back in the office!

Dan, is there a newsmail option for upcoming new releases for this goods section?
by wohjai : Mar 31,2008
Oh, and just wondering if the alice nine Alpha limited edition came with any bonus extras? I heard some of the initial customers who put in their order got a poster. There was also some people who got a bonus autograph booklet but I don't know if CDJapan included that.

1) Yes there is. It won't include every genre, but it does include figures and a bunch of the more popular options (sorry, no wigs newsmail yet). You can sign up from the banner on the top left of the goods page (under the main title bar), or by changing your newsmail settings under you customer account.

2) We didn't receive any information about bonus extras for "Alpha" (or at least, we don't have any info in our database though we usually don't delete the stuff internally). I know some bands give special bonuses if you buy from their site (or sometimes, certain retailers), so it might have been that. But there's nothing in our database and I don't see anything on their site.

Dan, what is this first press bonus from LM.C's new '88' single? (REBORN! Special large obi package) What is an OBI? What sorts of items are usually included in these OBI packages?

Pocket Books!!!
おはよう 友達 Dan (I`m progressing).
Please help me with a little situation: Do you know some place in Japan where I can find the mini books ilustrated of "Japan in the pocket" (I need them because your content is very useful for supporting my lessons instead they are very cute).
ありがとう!!!

I forget something Dan:
The brand on the books says: JTB (maybe the distributor or the publishing house)
by Ken007 : Apr 03,2008
wohjai> an obi's just that (usually paper) band that wraps around the CD case on a lot of Japanese releases (I believe the Dir en grey "Decade" releases had one). I don't know the details for the LM.C release (still in development), but it's probably just a slightly larger obi with a "Reborn!" anime print.

Bonus explanation: "obi" comes from the clothing article obi, used to hold kimonos together. Obi are the elaborate big belt/ribbon-things that wrap around the waist.

Ken007:
If I'm understanding you correctly, you're looking for these books?

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url?%5Fencoding=UTF8&search-type=ss&index=books&field-author=Japan%20Travel%20Bureau

They look like they might be out of print, but you can find some used through various resellers on Amazon.com (in America, through the link above).

JTB is the Japan Travel Bureau (a travel agency), which has branches in America and might have branches near you. They might have some as well, so I'd stop by if there's one decently close (or at least call).

And if you still have trouble with those books, I hear that the "Lonely Planet Guide to Japan" is an excellent source for information about travelling here.

So from my understanding based on your description, the single would come wrapped in multiple jackets of previous releases (lots of jacket layering)? For instance, it would include previous single releases (cover jackets of John, Boys and Girls, etc.)?

Sorry, I think my explanation might have been a bit lacking. Probably the easiest way to explain is to actually show you one, so here's a link:

If you look at the Rolling Stones album, there's a white strip of paper running down the left side of the CD case. That's the obi. They make them in either vertical or horizontal versions, but they're always just a strip of paper with various promotional materials for the release ("thirteen tracks!" "first new single in four months!" etc.)

Oh! Yes, yes. These are the books my friend Dan. Thank you so much for the info.
And if my soccer team achieve the goal to classificate to competition in Japan I will take in consideration your tourist guide.

Thank you again..
