Sento Bishojo No Seishin Bunseki (Chikuma Bunko)Saito TamakiLacanian Psychology in Otaku SubcultureThis book takes a Lacanian psychoanalytical approach to otaku subculture with a special focus on the phenomenon of the fighting bishoujo. The analysis is pretty indepth, and though they are explained in the book you might want to consult some secondary sources for the Lacanian terminology, such as the Big Other. Still, the analysis itself is trenchant and thought-provoking; it might be familiar to someone who has read Zizek, another Lacanian. However, a lot of the book is taken up by a genealogy of the fighting bishoujo, which is divided up into several subgenres. It's interesting in itself as far as it goes, but might be too simplified. The sections on Henry Darger are also fairly interesting as a case study and example of how Japanese media tropes present as radical 'outsider' art in the west. If you want a more nuanced view of Otaku, that starts from the premise that it's hardly easy, and in fact counterproductive and delusional in itself, to idly suggest that otaku are just 'seperated from reality', you will find some interesting ideas here. "Otaku know reality the best of anyone" is a controversial theory perhaps, but Saitto makes a good case for it.

Hikaru no Go 1 (Shueisha Bunko O55-8 Comic Ver.)Yumi Hotta, Ken Obata, Yukari YoshiharaFast deliveryI am actually hesitant at first since I didn't like the cover but after I receive the item. I was actually very amazed on how good the quality of the paper is. To the point that I do not want to hold it without cleaning or washing my hands first. Also, I was happy how it delivered so quickly. It is the first time that I didn't wait to long for my manga or anime stuff within a week. Totally gonna buy the rest of the volumes soon.

Kimi no Suizo wo Tabetai (Futaba Bunko)Sumino YoruGlad I choose to read this novel.I don’t usually read romance/slice of life novels very often. Rather I rarely do. Though, this time, I broke this habit of mine by buying this book, ‘I want to eat your pancreas”, by sheer curiosity, wondering about the reason behind it being one of the best sellers of its year. The result? I understood that reason very well to the point of shedding a few tears. This novel was absolutely magnificent. Besides its easy-pacing that suited my preference, I think the most important element that made it outstanding was the writing. Like the way the protagonist is called by his surroundings implying their impressions and feelings towards him, and how it was used to describe the change of these feelings throughout time or the wonderful idiomatic title-drop used at the very end of the story. Long story short, I felt quite satisfied after finishing this book, and I’m glad I choose to read it.

Roosevelt Game (Kodansha Bunko)Jun IkeidoFast and reliableI got the book within 1 week after it was processed in Japan for 2-3 days. It took one week because of local postal office issue but overall the quality of the book and even the FRAGRANCE of the book itself gave pleasure and of course it automatically adds up to my collection. Thank you for the fast and reliable processing. Would look around again if I see some stuff that I will buy.

Your Name. (Kimi no Na wa.) (Kadokawa Tsubasa Bunko)Makoto Shinkai, ChikoFantasticA book based off a lovely film. The Tsubasa Bunko line is very good for those who are learning Japanese.

Your Name. (Kimi no Na wa.) (Kadokawa Tsubasa Bunko)Makoto Shinkai, ChikoGood for japanese language learningThis version of the novel has furigana in every kanji so it's perfect for everyone learning japanese language. Also, it's very easy to understand the story (I guess they made it easier for children to read this book). The illustrations are beautiful and the quality of the paper is incredible. It's a great story too, and it's very nice to have the book even if you've already watched the movie. I believe there are minor details in this novel book that wasn't shown in the movie.

BLEACH WE DO knot ALWAYS LOVE YOU (JUMP j BOOKS) [Light Novel]Taito Kubo / Makoto MatsubaraGreat character driven novelWe get a lot of insight on what many side characters are up to, where some of characters that were seemingly MIA after the ending, are now. The status of soul society and plot threads finally being tied up. Also I love the relationship between Renji and Rukia we get to see a bit of that too. It's everything I expected it would be.

Captive Prince series 1: Hangoku no Oji (Monochrome Romance Bunko) [Light Novel]C. S. Pacat, Aki Fuyuto, Chinatsu KurahanaAwesome novel + gorgeous illustrationsThe japanese edition of the first novel of the Captive Prince series by C.S.Pacat is a paperback edition, tiny and easy to carry and read everywhere. The illustrations that complement the awesome novel are just gorgeous and it's quite obvious Kurahana Chinatsu did her best to do the novel justice with her beautiful art. Even if you can't read japanese I think this edition is totally worth every yen!

Seraph of the End: Vampire Mikaela (Owari no Seraph Kyuketsuki Mikaera no Monogatari) 1 (JUMP j BOOKS) [Light Novel]Takaya Kagami / Yamato YamamotoIt's a novel, not a mangaAh I thought it was a manga when I ordered it, but it's a novel, like they actually state in the name. My bad! Will read it when my kanji level is higher but for now I can say that the item looks good and the grammar in it isn't difficult if you can read most of the kanji.
