Each light has around 2 or 3 stories about either a specific high school or even a more nostalgic one like Teiko , as this one had. It's always heartwarming to get a glimpse on everyone's off-screen time during Teiko. :)

At long last, I was finally able to buy the first volume of the magnum opus light novel of Nagatsuki Tappei - Re:Zero. This series is an amazing character study, a mystery series, and just a living demonstration of what good isekai stories can be like; and if you’re someone who is an anime-only fan, I 100% recommend you read the light novel, because there’s much more to this series than what the anime adaptation has shown. When I first thought of buying Re:Zero in Japanese, I thought that I should level up my Japanese first, because the first time I ever read a Japanese light novel in an eBook format, it was Re:Zero, and I pretty much got wrecked by its difficult Japanese and had to make a tactical retreat to come back later after I level up my Japanese proficiency. Now that I actually bought volume 1 and can hold in in my hands, it feels pretty amazing to have it. I was kinda surprised at the book’s size at first - since I didn’t know it was the pocket size one - but everything is pretty much okay with it. The text quality is great, and the illustrations by Outsuka-sensei are spectacular; and of course, Nagatsuki-sensei’s writing itself is phenomenal. I 100% recommend it.

Even knowing that I need a translator I bought it and after reading it with the translator and learning some Japanese I can say that it's very good, Ado's characters drawings also made it better

I'm so happy I've got the Japanese translation of this novel. I already own the English and the censored Chinese versions, but I think reading the story in Japanese is somewhat closer to the original, but still easier to read for me than the Chinese one. Meatbun or Roubao Bu Chi Rou has a beautiful wiritng style, which also requires you to be knowledgable of Chinese traditional literature. This volume covers the events past the Ghost Wedding, the text is a bit small and has about 2 pages in one, which makes it a little harder to read. However, the lightnovel has a very few illustrations, but those really look beautiful. They are similar in style as the Manhua, so I can really recommend this. There are also cultural notes in footnotes, so I have to say this is really a great alternative to the English release.

I think the Japanese version of the light novel follows somewhat the division of the English novels as we are almost at the first heavenly rift. Mo Ran gets more and more aware that his relationship to Chu Wanning has changed already and that he sees him in a completely different light already. However, he is also still determined to save Shimei in this lifetime. There's a lot of secret plots going on here, there are a lot of questions in the story, which you will first find out in far later numbers. Although the story of the Husky and His White Cat Shizun is very dark and serious, there are a lot of comedic scenes in the book that you will get something of everything. Jut be prepared that the whole story gets gradually darker with every novel.

For those unaware of what this story is about, or for Anime-only fans who are hesitating about buying this book, let me give you a breakdown in a nutshell. "I Want To Be The Eminence In Shadows" is a story that you can explain in 2 phrases. One is "Chuunibyou but real deal," while the other is "Unjash but there's more to it." This story is pretty much drama disguised under the mask of comedy, and the comedy part of it is ultimately dark humor. The Anime adaptation had a specific strategy of distracting the inattentive viewers with the "static," while only the attentive viewers could weave through it and see what matters - "moonlight." It's a subtle and smart secret that the Anime's direction does to give hints to those who pay attention about what truly matters and what the true feelings and thoughts of the protagonist, Kageno Minoru, are. It's only hints because the direction of the Anime is faithful to Minoru's "I don’t tell anyone what I care about" philosophy, so I would recommend any Anime-only to read this, because the light novel is much more detailed and has technicality and monologues that the Anime doesn't. I 100% recommend it, and thank you to CDJapan for selling it.
