X Japan Reunites
Jun 04,2007
Today Japanese newspaper Sponichi broke the news that after nearly ten years since X Japan's New Year's break-up concert and nine years since the death of influential lead guitarist hide, X Japan will officially be reforming with a new tour and single scheduled to come within the year.
The article states that founder Yoshiki summoned former vocalist Toshi to Los Angeles to work on a hide-tribute track titled "Without You" (originally released instrumentally on Yoshiki's first album) during November 2006. After an emotional recording session the two felt that "the puzzle pieces just fit," and decided to officially reunite the band.
Yoshiki is said to be in talks with guitarist Pata and bassist Heath regarding the reunion, with hopes to feature the band lineup circa the band's final performance. While nothing has been set in stone, the tentative touring lineup is Yoshiki, Toshi, Pata, Heath, and roughly 10 guest guitarists who will perform hide's parts during various songs in the set.
Current information indicates that X Japan's tour will begin near Yoshiki's home of Los Angeles, with the Toshi-sung single release of "Without You" due sometime this year.
Regarding the reunion, Yoshiki stated the following: "After hide's death most fans were split between two extreme opinions, either 'you reunite and I'll kill you' or 'if you don't reunite I'll die.' I had trouble making the decision and for a while I wasn't able to move forward. This reunion is actually a first for me as well."

X Japan Reunites Comments
About time
about time they released Without You. I love that song. It's frustrating that they released it with lyrics but no vocals.

yesssssssssssssssss
Wonder if the lyrics for "without you" are gonna stay the same as the ones that came in the insert of Yoshiki's Eternal Melody II
by lostonetr : Jun 04,2007
From what I understood of the article it sounds like they are using Yoshiki's original lyrics from the time of his debut. That probably means they'll be the same as the insert, but no guarantees.

I love without you. And i love the idea of X japan's comeback, but it wont be same without hide :(

My Dream Come True
This was a hard decision for Yoshiki. He has been suffering many years because of X Japan broke and Hide's death, always crying when he listen to a X Japan song and always remembering Hide. So im very happy that he finally made a choose.i know that this may not like to many people and of course that it will not be the same, we all miss Hide but after all, this is a kind of tribute to him. i was expecting that Yoshiki and the other ex-x japan members would do something special for the next year at Hide's memorial day, so im totally agree with this and im glad to have the miraculously oportunity to see my favorite band performing
I've dream with this many times so
Thanks Yoshiki!!!
PS I need money for the tickets and the travel!!! CDJapan please make a raffle haha just a joke

Thanks Adrian!
The contents team is out for the weekend right now so I'll update the tracklist when I get to the office tomorrow. The jacket artwork may take a little longer to get through our system but it should be up soon!
Again, thank you!

X Japan and S.K.I.N.?
Yoshiki's a very talented man indeed. But with him starting up S.K.I.N. this year, and now they're going to be reuniting X Japan? Plus, both bands touring at the same time?

tour dates?
Are they coming to NYC????
by Maria : Jun 17,2007
While nothing has been confirmed, I do hope if they reunite and tour, they will start in America or Europe. I want to see them on their first concert back and I live in the UK. I can order tickets for an American or European show but if they play in Japan, I wont be able to order tickets as I cant read Japanese :(
