CDJ Visits stylish wave '07 MATRIX

Hey all,

Dan here. This week we've got a special guest column from my coworker Mihomiho about the "stylish wave '07 MATRIX" visual kei event she recently attended. Make her feel welcome and if you have any questions feel free to ask! Her words start after the line below:

----------------

Hi, this is Miho, another staff member of CDJapan. Usually Dan updates the CDJapan blog, but this time I wanted to talk about a visual band collaboration concert I went to last week.

On November 28, I went to "stylish wave '07 MATRIX" held at SHIBUYA-AX, Tokyo.

Following bands took part in the special live:

  1. Lolita 23q

  2. DuelJewel

  3. Charlotte

  4. Jinkaku Radio

  5. ayabie

  6. Penicillin with Ni-ya (Nightmare)

1. Lolita 23q
The first act was Lolita 23q. Once they started with the catchy song "Mikansei Sapphire," the audience soon got excited. The bass member Ryosuke had been injured and was walking with a stick, but the performance was fine!

2. DuelJewel
The second band was DuelJewel. Their performance was very hard - they played my favorite song "Trust" and other hard songs. They got wild on the stage, and the live house was full of head banging fans.

3. Charlotte
The third performer, Charlotte, appeared in cute costumes - white shirts, red ties, plaid pants and white boots. The mixture of the looks of a prince and a school boy! During the MC time, they talked about their Brazil tour that they had just finised. Seemed they really enjoyed the time with Brazilian fans. Tha band played "Diamond Busaiku" and other happy & catchy songs.

4. Jinkaku Radio
And then, Jinkaku Radio. It was my first time to attend their live, and it was fantastic - the vocalist Yuki's voice was so beautiful! And his MC was really funny. Maybe funnier than general Japanese comedians. They played their popular song "Oningyo-san" and four more songs.

5. ayabie
When the fifth band ayabie appeared on the stage, the yell of the audience became bigger - and the performance was so catchy. Everybody danced together with the vocalist Aoi! They played their new song "Kirisame" for the first time.

6. Penicillin with Ni-ya (Nightmare)
The final band was PENICILLIN with Ni-ya! First I was surprised with the combination, but it was really great! Personally, the most fantastic persormance at that night was Nightmare's song "the WORLD" sung with HAKUEI's voice! So cool!
And then they played PENICILLIN's all-time best song "Romance" - when HAKUEI shouted "Everybody sing!," nearly all the audience sang together. The song was a mega hit in 1998 all over Japan, and everyone can sing the song. It was a good conclusion to the wonderful night.

"stylish wave '07 MATRIX" was a seventh anniversary concert for the visual-kei magazine "Zy," released by star child Inc. I appreciate the opportunity to have been invited to such a fancy concert.

Thank you for reading. Next time Dan will be back again to get you.

Thank you very much for writing!
Thank you for writing about the event that we organised!

I was also very suprised when PENICILLIN with Ni~ya began to play my favourite song 'Romance'. It was great time worth to join. Even though I was keeping my seat and I watched their performance with a monitor, but my legs have been danced to the rhythm with the song.

I expect Dan's writing turn for the event on 20th January 2008!
