In HIZAKI's Graces
Oct 05,2007
OK, you may have noticed a little extra zeal in my top page article on Versailles. That would be because I have such a man-crush on HIZAKI right now (in, you know, a completely metaphorical sense). You may find it surprising that while there are many J-Rock fans on the CDJapan team, I'm not one of them. What I am a fan of is skilled guitarists, and that is where HIZAKI got me.

How does one man shred like that? He's amazing. I just watched the video for "Race Wish" and I'm in awe. Better yet, how did I miss him for this long? Don't get me wrong, I think TERU's a great guitarist too, but if I had to choose I'd definitely take HIZAKI. Dan likes arpeggios.

If you've never heard of HIZAKI and you're into heavy, melodic, symphonic, or thrash metal, definitely check out Versailles and HIZAKI grace project.

See you next week and keep rocking!

agreeing with you
when i first listened to Hizaki, i was asking myself the same thing. i've been into JRock for 5 years, how could i not heard of this genius before? but i'm glad i have now, and now i'm anxiously waiting for Lyrical Sympathy to be out!

Exactly! When Versailles came out I'd heard of HIZAKI from HIZAKI grace project, but before that it seems like no one noticed him. I went back and watched footage of Sulfuric Acid and it's hard to notice his presence at all. I too am really glad HIZAKI got a chance to come to the forefront.
