Being the indies editor for CDJapan, I come across a bunch of wacky music. I know a lot of people are looking for Takako Minekawa-flavored girly electropop so I thought I'd introduce one of my favorite labels today, abcdefg* Records.

I don't know how one tiny indie label was able to acquire this amount of great, laid-back, indie/electro pop, but abcdefg* has some of my favorite artists right now. Seriously, Strawberry Machine, Slowcamp, Yucca, Yoshimi, it's fun just going through their online catalog and listening to all the free samples. If you have some free time and a need to chill, there's defintely worse ways to spend your time.

You can find the abcdefg* store here. It has a sort of Apple Store-ish wood and white aesthetic that I really enjoy. And although they don't appear to ship outside of Japan, if you find something you like you may be pleased to know that we carry most of their albums here at CDJapan (being an indie lable, you might have to add a "DAK" to the front of the product numbers if you're using them to search).

By the way, samples can be found on the product pages either directly below the tracklist (medleys) or next to the tracks themselves--either way they usually display a music note graphic at the end of the link.
