High-Def Anime for Late-Starters
Mar 23,2007
Maybe I'm just old, but I do remember a time when initiating a new person into anime meant breaking out the classics from Katsuhiro Otomo and Mamoru Oshii. Well, if you've been sitting on a Blu-ray or HD DVD player, I'm sure you want to see what masterpieces like "Akira," "Ghost in the Shell," and "Patlabor" look like in high-def. If that's you, then today is your lucky day.

We've got eight anime legends coming in fantistic high-def sets. The great thing about these releases, however, that they include the original DVD versions of the film as well. If you're a next generation format late-starter like me, you can feel good about buying a great DVD now, and when you buy that PlayStation 3 or whatever in the future, you can move up to the next gen without buying anything new. Complete details are listed below:

Blu-ray + DVD sets:
Akira
Royal Space Force - The Wings of Honneamise
Patlabor
Patlabor 2 The Movie
Ghost in the Shell
SteamBoy
JIN-ROH
Avalon

HD DVD + DVD sets:
Royal Space Force - The Wings of Honneamise
Patlabor
Patlabor 2 The Movie

Keep your eyes peeled for a full-blown special feature in the near future!

And speaking of site updates, we now have more new items from the SEX POT ReVeNGe spring collection (now vol. 2), and are currently running a 15% off sale on Ai Otsuka's "Tokyo Friends" and "Love is Born" DVDs.

See you next week!
