Oh! It`s good to see it Mana, because recently I watched "Dragonball Evolution" movie in the theater and it`s the most horrible movie that I see in my entire life!!! TOO SHORT, BORING, ETC(I`m very dissapointed). I hope this new movie of Evangelion will be better and only be executed by japanese actors not that ridiculous mixture between Hollywood and Asian actors.

Yeee-haaa! I hope it all pan's out, and please, please don't let Hollywood be involved. It's bad enough Spielberg got the rights to GITS. I also hope the director doesn't make Shinji a complete moron, but then again I guess that's one of the main themes of Eva. Can't wait to see live action Eva units taking on the Angels.

This film could be really bad... or of course it could be great, but I always assume the worst. I hope Hideaki Anno is involved: not only because he was the driving force behind Evangelion, but also because he directed a rather fun live-action film of Cutie Honey a few years ago (the one starring Eriko Satou - VPBT-12216 from cdjapan), so he knows how to adapt anime.

The actor I feel most sorry for is the one who plays Shinji, because it'll be hard for him not to come across as just a whiney loser. The one I feel least sorry for is whoever plays Rei, because she has hardly any lines to learn and doesn't even need a personality. I'm not a Rei fan.

I never really liked Evangelion but I'll probably see the movie at some point.

I saw Dragonball recently and it was horrible! ;_; I almost cried it was so bad. I don't think that actors have to be Japanese to play DB or Eva movie adaptions, as long as they can act and the story is good I am happy.

Do you watch movie adaptions of books and shows, Manababy? I sometimes wish they were more close to the books because lots is left out, but I suppose that it would be hard to use all of the book exactly the same.

Well I don't know how long it will take to watch the movie. When did they say that they will shoot this movie? over 5-6 years?? And now cast has been confirmed. Well I'm very excited but I don't know if I will watch this movie in this life -.-

@Ken007: Yes, DB:evolution was terrible ^^ I hope the Street Fighter movie will be better.

Yes, I've also heard that Dragonball was terrible and nobody (at least not around me) have gone to see it.

Kariya>Actually I don't watch a lot of adaptations. I know many fans are mostly disappointed how the movie comes out, it if they've read the book.
Tell me one successful adaptation. I haven't even tried Harry Potter yet!!
by Manababy : Apr 21,2009
Probably the most successful adaptation from book to movie (I believe) is the Lord Of The Rings trilogy by New Zealand (yay) director Peter Jackson. The Harry Potter films are also great, especially The Prisoner Of Azkaban. As far as manga adaptations, I will have to go with the live action Death Note films, very very cool.

Damon M>Thanks for the recommendation. I've only read couple mangas of Death note but when I saw a little bit of the move, I really thought that the actor for Kira was exactly like Kira in the comic book. His creepy moves and his weird gestures were just like him.
