Canned coffees of Evangelion will be re-released from UCC in a 2009 ver. designing 6 characters from the series.

I heard that there are not many canned coffees in foreign countries, but they are very very popular in Japan. I think it is popular because Japan has vending machines everywhere.

Most of the vending machines sell canned drinks but sometimes they sell snacks, ice-cream and newspapers. Recently canned noodles and canned oden (Soup with vegetables and fish pastry) was a very new item sold in vending machines. I even saw an umbrellas-selling machine too.

And of course there are many vending machines selling cigarettes but now they require special ID cards called TASPO in order to buy a cigarette at vending machines to prove that you are not underage.

Some vending machines have game functions where you can win a second can for free! We can now also buy canned drinks with our commuters pass.

I wonder how vending machines are in other countries and what kind of unique items they sell. The latest one I heard in Japan was a vending machine renting videos.

Warm canned beverages are so useful when you're freezing... In Italy, they sell mostly snacks and cold soft drinks.

There are some canned coffees in the U.S. I think Starbucks has them. There's this Asian brand called "Mr. Coffee" or something?

Also there are vending machines that rent movies. I saw them while I was at a supermarket.

My goodness. It seems that Japan is vending-machine heaven. Let's see if I can score a can of beer if I'll ever go...

Je,je,je. In Costa Rica there are NO vending machines (maybe in a casino or some hotels...). We have the traditional sites (stalls) in public places where you buy ALL these things.

These canned drink will be very good in my country because all of my people likes coffee (well, it`s the traditional drink in breakfast and afternoon) but we have to make it and takes MUCH TIME. The TASPO ID cards are excellent by your function.

Ahhhh! Japan have so many innovative things all the time. You don`t rest, NE!!!

I LOVE Japanese vending machines! They are so convenient. I don't really like coffee but there's one brand of canned coffee that I love. I can't remember the name but I always buy it :)

In the Netherlands we have vending machines for canned or (plastic)bottled drinks, or snacks. Sometimes cigarettes or bus tickets (yes, a vending machine. You can see the bus tickets. These machines are not like the ones at the train stations or anything)

I've had canned coffee once, but it wasn't the self-warming type. It was pretty good though!

My fave type of coffees are cappuccino or iced coffee - which is basically cold coffee flavoured milk and sometimes has cream or chocolate topping on it too. Yum!

Our vending machines in Australia usually just have packets of potato chips or cold drinks in them, but I've once seen a very cool machine that sold pies and pasties in it that were heated! Unfortunately you had to wait til the people cooking the food behind the machine put them in so you could buy....it wasn't really a traditional "vending machine" at all!

I saw a TV show introducing vending machines in Holland. I was suprised to see something just like Kariya described. There were vending machines selling croquettes. But just like Kariya said, I didn't get why they need to put it into a vending machine. People were frying the croquettes behind the vending machine and putting them into the vending machines when they could just sell it to people over the counter. Still, it is unique and a fun idea!

Manababy, that's right :) We also call it "pull a croquette from the wall" haha. I never really thought about it, but now that you describe it... yes, it's a little useless haha. I don't know why they do it like that, but it's very Dutch :)
