CD Japan Launches Social Review Site Neolog
Jul 03,2009

Hello from CDJapan

CDJapan has launched our own social review site for customers
to interact with other customers all around the world.

What you do is you write a review for your favorite item and
put it in a your categorized shelf.

For example I made a shelf titled "Movies I Want to Watch with Girlfriends".
And I put in movies which I think that belong in that category and write a
review for the movie.

As for now, we even give out 30 points for just creating a new shelf
and 10 points for only posting a review! (*Note 1)

If you participate in our Neolog Affiliate Program, you will receive a 3% commission of the sales if someone buys a movie reading your review!
Even if someone who read your review, does not purchase the product right away, you'll receive credit for their next CDJapan purchase as long as the purchase is made within 30days!

How lucky is that!?

You can also send messages to other users and make friends with other CDJapan
customers and exchange information!

Participate in Neolog Now!!

*Note 1 Valid until July 31, 2009 (Japan Standard Time)

Very good idea this Neolog.
It only needs one more feature - a form or email to send bug reports to. ;)
Like the one about the "set your Login Preference to Using CDJapan Customer Account in Settings under your My Page" thing not working for those who didn't registered using CDJapan account right away...

I donĄt undrestand very well this Mana.
If I put a review of one item and somebody buy this item thanks to my review.... in what part of my customer account I see the famous commission that or the benefits of it? I donĄt have a page or web or anything to show to everybody!!!

Explain better, please.

Good idea but it's not working very smoothly. I tried to create a shelf, but all I get is "please try again later" - on several times. And this is AFTER I figured out that system does not like capital letters in your ID... At least not from me ;-)

I also made a Neolog. I love the idea, but there are some bugs...

For example the wrong item name shows up on Neolog. For example I write a review about a DVD. On Neolog it shows the name and information of a completely different item, but it does link to the DVD...
In one case, it shows the information of an item that is not released yet so it doesn't show my rating!

But I think the site is awesome. If the bugs are fixed it will be perfect :)

I didn't notice that many bugs. The only thing that I really did notice was that our account page at CDJapan still lists and asks us to write a review for a particular item that we've already written a review for on the log. Aside from that there's also the item name that isn't always displayed.

Me again :) I see the bug I mentioned is fixed!

The bug I reported - both here and to support@neolog.jp - is still there. :/ Things even got a bit worse, because someone merged CDJapan and Neolog login forms - it took me some time to figure things out, because that page just doesn't mention Neolog credentials anymore (which is kinda confusing to the end user because Neolog is designed as a separate service, not a part of CDJapan).

How about giving some points or other signs of gratitude to those filing bug-reports? ;) You know, QA is more of a job than a hobby... Oh, and I can probably fix those bugs for you in exchange for a nice personal discount! XD

Hi Guys Thank you for reporting about the bugs. I reported everything to our system team.

For any other bug reports please give us a mail to support@neolog.jp!

Ken

You don't need a personal blog.
If you have an account in Neolog and have written a review and someone buys the product clicking the item which you have reviewed, you will receive commission. But first you have to get approved as a Neolog affiliate.
