CDJapan Moves, Ayu Campaign Winners Selected
Hey all, sorry for the lack of news lately but CDJapan has been going through some big changes and we haven't had as much time as we'd like to focus on campaigns. Things should be hustling and bustling soon, though.
This weekend CDJapan and our parent company Neowing will be moving! Relax, it's only a block or so up the street--we're still in Tokyo just one station away from Akihabara. We will be abandoning our cosy, very lived-in offices on the second floor of our current building for something more spacious and, dare I say, sexy on the tenth floor of our new building.
What does this mean to you? Pretty much nothing, though there might be a little bit of a wait for support responses over the weekend. However, we're finishing the unpacking this weekend, so things should be back to normal starting next week (though in our new pad). We'll be updating the articles on all of our pages on Monday as well.
We've also selected the winners for our Ayumi Hamasaki Present Campaign. If you've one something, we've included the present and a note with your Ayumi Hamasaki order. Make sure to check when that order comes!

Dan, when will you have the info up for pre-order for Girugamesh's upcoming album? It's set to be released November 5.

"Girugamesh's next album will be release on November 5th. Though currently untitled, it will be available in two editions. The regular version will include twelve tracks while the limited version will only include nine, but will also come with a DVD featuring footage from the band's shining tour '08 SHOOTING SUMMER, their performance at the Wacken festival, a music video and backstage shots.
The album will also be released in various European countries via Gan-Shin between November 5th and 11th. This European edition will include three exclusive bonus tracks."

Thanks for the warning about the move...But what if we send money orders? Will we have to ship it to a different address? There will be a new address, right?
I'm just worried that my money will get lost in the mail, and that would be devastating!!

Could CDJapan in the future have a posters page? so we could buy posters?
And... Is it possible for you to sell back issues of magazines like SHOXX or ARENA 37c? Or special books, like "SHOXX fiLE Nightmare Edition.1"
On "音楽専科社/Ongakusenkasha" official site they have alot of old back orders of magazines, which I don't know how I can get them being a foreigner..

Dan, how come when I place my order, the total shipping weight is always more than the actual weight that's stated on the disc's info page? (ie. 3 CD's weighted @120g, 120g, and 200g = 440g, but when the order is placed, the total ends up being 550g. Is this a system error or is there some hidden information because it is costing us more for the heavier shipping weight).

We're definitely thinking about having a posters page, unfortunately right now we can't assemble a lineup of posters that really matches our customers needs (mostly posters of foreign stars like Orlando Bloom, etc). We're talking to smaller VK shops to see if we can start stocking their items, however I don't know if or when that will come through.
As for back orders, I'm not sure how Ongakusenkasha does it, but most of the magazines we have won't let us order back orders. I imagine Ongakusenkasha orders a bunch at once, and then whatever's left over they assemble into a back order special feature (all their back orders seem to have themes like "the GazettE"). Maybe, if we were to increase our volume of magazine sales we might be able to work something, but we'd need to sell a lot more before we'd be willing to keep extras in stock for back orders. Sorry!

Question Dan. Are we allowed to cancel items if the status of that item says "on hold" but the actual shipment itself has not entered the shipping process (ie. "not yet shipped")?

1) "possible" is sort of a strong word, we'll ask SEX POT but there's no real guarantee we can get something you want.
2) I'm not sure where you can get the special Glass Skin version, where did you find that information? According to Dir en grey's site, different stores will have different first press bonuses, so that might be the problem.

v.v> Hmmm, we don't have a sample of "Glass Skin" in the office so I can't check, but I'm guessing there's a flyer for "Uroboros" included in the CD (in or on top of the lyric sheet) advertising the album that includes the four-digit code. If you've already received the single and it didn't include the flyer then I'm probably wrong, but for now I'm pretty sure that's how it works.
As for the bonus items for purchasing both "Glass Skin" and "Uroboros," I believe those will only work for residents of Japan since the label will have to ship them to you directly.
However, just to be safe, hold on to all the packaging, obis, and inserts when you get "Glass Skin." I'll have our label rep contact Dir's label when she gets back to see if maybe we can work something out (don't get your hopes up though).
