Led Zeppelin Cardboard Sleeve Releases Cancelled
Jun 13,2008
Hey all, this week I've got some bad news for those of you whom either ordered or planned to order the "Led Zeppelin 40th Anniversary SHM-CD Cardboard Sleeve Reissues." We've just discovered that the manufacturer has decided to cancel the release of all ten items in the series. Furthermore, since none of the ten items will be released, we will be unable to present the "Led Zeppelin" cardboard sleeve campaign we began yesterday.

We are unable to give out any details, but we have been told the manufacturers are still planning to release these items at some point, and in some shape. We'll keep you updated with information if we receive any word about releases in the future.

If you have purchased one of these items, we should be contacting you via email regarding your purchase. On behalf of CDJapan, I'd like to say that we are terribly sorry for the way this turned out and we apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused. Sorry guys, we were looking forward to these releases as much as you were.

Hello Dan.
Thank you to always keep informed and updated to all us.

I have a little question: CDJapan sell the DVD Magazines of Hello Project groups like Berryz Kobo and others?
I am hearing about this and my curiosity has awakened!!
by Ken007 : Jun 14,2008
James Porteous> I know, I couldn't believe it myself. Hopefully they have something big in the works for the releases.

Ken007>I don't think we've received anything. We have the photobooks that I mention occasionally (Eri Kamei etc.) but I haven't seen any group books or DVD magazines for Berryz Kobo or any other groups.

DANNNN!!!!
when is Dir en grey's new single "GLASS SKIN" gonna be out in cdjapan??so i can pre-order it ASAP!!!XDXDXDXDXDXDD
by v.v : Jun 16,2008
v.v> You better bet I asked our label liaison the second I saw the single on Dir's site!

Her answer: right now Dir en grey have only announced that they're "going" to release a single, so the official data hasn't been prepared yet. As soon as we get that we'll have it up on our site. But if I'd venture a guess I'd say since the single's tentatively coming out Sept. 10, we should be getting data sometime early-mid July. Hang in just a little longer.

OOOHHH~~~~~~
I cant wait!!>.<
by the way Dan, i dont see much of Linkin Park's single being sold at cdjapan huh?Is cdjapan selling more items from Asia?oh well thats cool!!!!!
Still got Diru on the way!!!!!!!!!!!!XD
by v.v : Jun 16,2008
We only get what's released in Japan, so we don't get many singles though we do get albums. If they play another show in Japan you can probably count on Japan-tour edition re-release of "Minutes to Midnight," though it looks like there's one already out:

hello Dan,

Would you happen to stock any Gloomy Bear items and t-shirts?

http://images.google.ca/images?q=gloomy+bear&ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title

I can't seem to find any in your goods section.
by wohjai : Jun 17,2008
You know what would help with bypassing customs, maybe if you didn't post the prices on the cover of the boxes, sort've say to hide them and just include them inside the box. I don't know if that is possible but I think some other online retailers do that.
by wohjai : Jun 17,2008
Hello.

I was wondering if the Visual Kei DVD Magazine Volume 2 is going to be sold on CDJapan?

Thanks.
by trev : Jun 18,2008
wohjai>
Gloomy Bear-> Not yet but I'm having our collectibles people look into it. My sister loves Gloomy Bear too.

Customs Forms-> Unfortunately we're requried by the postal service to list prices outside the box. We've tried writing both simple and detailed item explanations and it didn't seem to have any effect.

trev>
We should be getting it in soon! The distributor likes to limit sales to concerts/artists-only for the first few weeks after release, but we'll get it as soon as they open it up to online stores.

???
Hello my friend Dan.
First of all "Happy Birthday" again. Je,je,je (I never forget a date).

Well, I checked that the "Related Items" section don`t see anymore in some items (for example: Perfume group).Did you know anything about it?
by Ken007 : Jun 19,2008
Dan does CDJ sell Dir's photobooks??
And do you know where i can get the lead singer Kyo's poem book? With a reasonable price..cos i heard that his poem book is rare and out of print so people might sell it more expensive,>.<
like $2++ is sick man!!
by v.v : Jun 19,2008
Ken007>
Thank you, I can't believe you remembered!

Are the related items still missing from the page you noticed the problem in? We had a problem a couple of days ago with our recommending system giving out too many recommendations and causing the "Related Items" section to fall off the page, but that should be fixed now.

If you still don't see the related items page could I trouble you to send me a link to the page and tell me whatever browser you were using?

v.v> No DEG books yet, but we do get a lot of Jrock books so we should get one in sometime. If you're looking for something fan club-only though, we probably won't have that. As for Kyo's book of poetry, it looks like a few resellers on Amazon.co.jp have it. I don't know if they'll ship internationally but you can get it for under $100 (not including shipping).

v.v>
Ah, thanks for the comments!

No, Ken007's just one of our longest participants in the blog (though, of current posters I think shawurai might proceed him)! I've never met him but he's been around for over a year so we've got a good banter.

And my birthday is June 15--I'm originally from California ;)
by Dan : Jun 20,2008
Yes!!
Dan> Oh! Hi again Dan.
It`s perfect, now all is like before. So, you guys had a little bit problem with the page? Thank you so much for clarification.

Eh! You don`t believe I remember... Oh! Dan what memory you have!!
Miho-Miho told me the same thing recently. (Ha,ha,ha)

Ah! and sorry for the birthday (I pass by 4 days... Je,je,je) I`m not perfect.
by Ken007 : Jun 20,2008
v.v.>
You are right:

1- I never met Dan in person.
2- I join the blog Dic. 2006 - early 2007 so, Dan is right too. "shawurai" is more longest participant than myself.
3- Dan was my first contact in this great company so, I appreciate so much for their advice and that is why I consider "my friend".
4- I`m so curious like you, too. I assumed from the beginning that Dan was japanese not american like me. Incredible... Je,je,je
(GOOD QUESTION!! v.v.)
5- SOMEBODY help and tell me which is the meaning of: Mata ne!
by Ken007 : Jun 20,2008
XDXD, LOL!!!!!!
mata ne? i dont know isnt it like "see ya!" or something like that~~~~,hahah!!i have no idea~~ so Dan you speak Japanese very well?? And you like in Japan now? EKEKEKEKEKEKEK~XDXD
by v.v : Jun 20,2008
Ken007> Was it really late 2006 early 2007? Thanks for being around for over a year and a half!

My memory is absolutely terrible (you should have seen me try to pass Kanji class before my year abroad--it was hilarious) but I can remember general things.

and "Mata ne" does mean "See ya," or more accurately "see you again." "Mata" means "again" and "ne" is just the same "ne" you see on "So desu ne" and everywhere else for emphasis.

v.v> I do speak Japanese and live in Japan. It's a little known fact but I actually translate all the product descriptions at CDJ (even the spelling mistakes). Japan's awesome, you guys should definitely come check it out!
by Dan : Jun 20,2008
XD LOL!! You guys are sooo funnnny!

Dan I'm sure that any of us who visit this site are just dying to go to Japan!!
by wohjai : Jun 20,2008
1- Oh! Thank you for the comments my friend Dan. It has been a great year and half of situations and problems but I am very happy to know so many people in this blog.
2- It`s funny to hear your experience in kanji class(I hate kanjis) but you pass. Je,je.
3- So, "Mata ne" is "See you again"? Ahhh! Now I understand this phrase in Mana-Khemia game(makes sense).
4- You have a great and important job like translator Dan. I congratulate you. And of course I`m agree with you and "wohjai" = Japan is incredible and "SUPER EXPENSIVE" too, but I don`t care:
SOMEONE WHO TAKES ME TO JAPAN!!!!
ONEGAIIIII....

P.S. "Mata ne"
by Ken007 : Jun 21,2008
Question
Sorry! Dan. I forgot something: you know of who is the beautiful voice in the second disc of Mana-Khemia OST 1(track no.1 = Nikki`s theme)?. Sounds like Aya Hirano!
Thank you again.
by Ken007 : Jun 21,2008
wohjai> word~ , i'm dying to go to Japan!!!XDXD
Dan you should buy us tickets to japan!!! wakakakakaka!! joking!!XD
Oh, so Dan how long have you stayed in Japan? Oh you must be having the most joyful time in Japan~~having to go there and you have a job, thats awesome!!!!!XDXD,,,Plus, do you join DEG's "a Knot" fanclub??i wanted to but i dont have a Japanese address and i dont live in japan~~T.T
by v.v : Jun 21,2008
Ken007> I don't have the CD in front of me so I'm not sure, but if you're referring to the song "Ne" it's by an artist called Marie:

http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/list_from_code_banner.html?key=340434

v.v> Living in Japan is great, I've been here for a total of six years now! I am not really a fan of DEG so I'm not a part of the fan club. I prefer indie rock type bands, so it is really nice to be able to go to a small club and see the bands I like whenever I want!
by Dan : Jun 22,2008
Dan, is it true that Japanese girls dig white guys? My boss' son went to Japan last summer w/his gf and he deliberately grew his chest hair cause he heard that the girls in Japan really dig white men with hair. Mind you the guy is pretty built and like 2" taller than me at like 6'-2" +_+...he ended up having a picture of him published in a Tokyo newspaper posing with two Japanese girls at a beach and there was a short article about him as well..XD

I was like whoa!! Do you get any attention like that, Dan? te te te..

Question: Do you know if alice nine. will be releasing any live DVD's in the near future? I'm waiting for one that covers their recent live tours starting in late 2007 and January 2008 onward; Royal Straight Flash, A to U tour, etc...I know they have an upcoming ONE MAN TOUR in August, maybe they're waiting after that...hmmmmm....

Ken 007/V.V > Upcoming CDJapan campaign: Purchase 10000 yen or more to win a free trip to Japan!!
by wohjai : Jun 23,2008
wohjai> are you serious?? if so when does the campaign starts?? **gets excited**
wahahahahah~~!!!!woah jap women are sure weird~~
If so Dan must have a ΖόΛά½χΝ§Γ£then~~~hahahahahah!!XD
by v.v : Jun 23,2008
wohjai> It depends on the girl but be warned that if you go the foreigner route a lot of girls will expect you to be their English teacher along with their boyfriend. And, uh, I'm pretty sure it's not your chest hair so much as how cute you can be (seriously, girls love it when you mispronounce things).

Unfortunately . . . believe it or not we actually considered that campaign (buy 10000 yen or more now and be entered into a drawing to see X Japan in Tokyo!!!!) but it was't not quite practical yet. Here's a comic to keep you company though:

http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2002/7/31/

v.v> no comment ;)
by Dan : Jun 23,2008
Dan, is it true that japanese people writes better eigo then speaking them??And is it true for the women over 30's, that if they dont get marry they will have to support themselves alone??cos i heard that usually women in japan who is in their 30's usually nobody wants to hire them anymore...is it true??
by v.v : Jun 24,2008
Dan> Thank you so much for the info.
Yeah! It's true, it's the song "Nee" = "Ne" (Whoa! great song and Nikki is a j-pop idol, too? = I have just discovering now in Chapter 6 of the game. Marie has competition, je,je,je).
Ah! and thanks for your advice about girls in Japan. To be honest I would be interested to know much Miho-Miho and all of you(so, I suggest CDJapan put an entire great photo of ALL THE STAFF in any part of the page) Ah! and my favorite j-pop idols, too.

wohjai> Ha,ha,ha. Good joke! If this campaign was really true I would be in any beach of Japan with my dream j-girls and believe: this would be a very special article in Tokyo's newspapers!!

Dan> Very funny your penny comic.
by Ken007 : Jun 24,2008
v.v.> If this story is true the japanese men are so fool!! There are many girls worth at that age. I don't know very well but Horie Yui is a very good example. She is over 30's, beautiful and with a great voice. I get married with her gladly!
by Ken007 : Jun 24,2008
Ken007> word~!!!CDJ should put a picture of the entire staff and the discography of CDJ!!!!that would be great!!!!XD, great suggestion there ken007!!And we'll start guessing who is who!!!!!!!XDXDXD
by v.v : Jun 24,2008
v.v> the English varies on the person but it is true that Japanese people spend more time learning to write than they do learning to speak English. However, it's not true that Japanese women in their 30s have a hard time finding jobs. Maybe in the past, but I know a bunch of women in their 30s who've found jobs just fine.

Ken007 + v.v> sorry, no photos! The staffs a little too nervous about putting their pictures out in the public domain
by Dan : Jun 24,2008
buuuuu~~what a downer~~
it doesnt have to be in the domain...like in a section that says "About us CDJ"..then you have the sub-section: the staffs(where you guys have a group photo) and history about CDJ..oh~~~magnifico!!you guys should consider this idea!!XD
by v.v : Jun 24,2008
Maybe you should just have that sub-section w/staff pics password-protected and only participants of the blog can access that information XD...man is CDJ staff THAT shy?

At least tell us how old everyone is!
by wohjai : Jun 24,2008
Yeah! My great idea have massive support. Thank you guys(v.v.+wohjai). I don`t expecting this success but your suggestions are so good!: The sub-sections and the pics password protected = Very well!!

I`m only know one person so SHY in CDJapan staff and this is Miho-Miho!! and not others.

P.S. DAN COWARD!! GIVES THE EXAMPLE. YOU ARE THE LEADER.
P.S. I have another idea! Because this blog it`s very laaaaaaaaarge I suggest for the next blog a special title: FREE TOPIC OR BLOG PARTICIPANTS PICTURES(to give the example...! and of course after the gift blog that Dan made yesterday)
by Ken007 : Jun 25,2008
Nope! No pictures (hehehe). I can't tell you everyone's ages either, but I can tell you that everyone is in their twenties and thirties.

If you guys want to find out more, you're going to have to come to Japan and meet everyone!
by Dan : Jun 25,2008
This is the idea, my friend Dan!
Sniff, sniff...
by Ken007 : Jun 26,2008
