New CDJapan Ad and Gift Card

Hey all! Things have temporarily slowed down after our big server change, but that just means that we're working on stuff behind the scenes for a couple of big announcements coming up in the next couple of months. Since I'm not allowed to talk about those until they're done, I thought this week I'd show you guys our new ad and winter-themed gift card. Click on any of the photos to see a larger version.
Ad:
Keep a lookout for this ad in an upcoming issue of ROCKonJ magazine, an all-Japanese mag specializing in Jrock. The art for this ad was sketched up in Illustrator and then colored in Photoshop. I'm not exactly an artist, so please forgive me if you think the art is a little strange.
Gift Card:
We've moved over from our Christmas theme to our winter theme for the gift cards. You'll receive one of these with every gift order from CDJapan! Though I've posted the original image to the left, the actual card you get will look something like this since we need to post your message and order summary. Anyway, this baby was done all in Illustrator. The Japanese says "Feel the warmth of a heart this winter."

Login problem server-related?
First off, thanks for the news! :) The gift card sounds neat, I'll give it a try with my next gift order. Speaking of which, attempts to log in seem to fail right now, though, at least for me, so maybe it's due to the server switch? It tells me there's a server error at cdjng.prv.cdjapan.co.jp, and also displays a note that, while the sent data is encryptet, it's not sent over an encrypted connnection (whatever that means, it might just be Firefox' way of confusing me).

I actually have no idea what was going on with our server, but I can assure you it wasn't just Firefox. We also experienced oddities with the blog system, so I'm glad that you were able to at least get in to post.
Anyway, I contacted our system people and it looks like things are back to normal right now (I just checked log-in and it looks like it's working too). I apologize to everyone for the inconvenience and hopefully the problems have been solved!

Cool Dan, you got it working now. The new gift card is nice. I would like to help out with the designing of graphics such as these in the future. Sounds fun! Just wondering if there are any possible opportunities because I would be extremely interested! I'm an interior designer and know how to use photoshop and illustrator very well.

Thanks! I've been toying with the idea of running a design contest through the blog, but the deadlines for our recent ads have been so tight that there hasn't been time to prep.
We actually don't need anything right now, but I'd be very interested in seeing some of your work. If you have an online portfolio, please send me a link.
If we do have something come up, I'd probably need you to also submit to a trial (design something within a week that meets x, y, and z limits), but I'm definitely intrigued. I should warn you that we do have extremely short deadlines and a ton of limitations on what we can use (copyright etc.). But if your down with that, I'd love to see your portfolio.

I'd be totally down with that idea. I'm so used to meeting deadlines. In my school deadlines are like #1 priority. I'll try to find time to set up my portfolio on my blog. Maybe I can do it over this weekend. I'll keep you posted and send over a link.

Hey Dan,So I finally got my portfolio up and running on my blog

And the secret to getting your website to show up in the "website" field of the comments post is to begin the URL with "http://" I've been trying to get them to fix that for a while but the system teams's tied up with a bunch of stuff right now.

Regarding my site, I just updated it with a new ¥¢¥ê¥¹¶åéË title graphic near the top of the page. What do you think of that design?
But for some reason, other people visiting my blog say that some of the images in the blog don't load for some reason so I'm still trying to fix that, but I don't seem to know what the problem is at the moment, so please bear with that for the time being. I think you can view those unloadable images in the blog by clicking on the image or by right-clicking and selecting "show picture". Hope the office likes my work.

Actually, believe it or not this is an all new cold. Yay for intemperate climates.
I really like the maple leaves on the "Alice in Wonderland" picture. I, too, had problems viewing some of your images, but I couldn't seem to find anything wrong with your code. Can't be sure but my guess is there's still some problems with the Live Spaces server.
Aaaanyway, I've passed the link around my department and everyone should get a chance to look at it by next week. I'll update you then!

Ok, I'll keep the portfolio posted for a bit longer.
I've fixed the issue in regards to the unloadable images after emailing Microsoft. The way they have it set up with Windows Live Spaces and how that problem occurred is quite stupid. But I'm glad I finally got it to work. I've reposted my recent posts so if you go there now the images should appear with no problem.
One more thing, when can I expect this free shipping upgrade campaign to launch? Anytime soon or is it just a proposal? As well, there doesn't seem to be any coupons promotions or coupons being sent to my email recently. It's been over 2 months.

Free shipping upgrades are still a proposal so I don't even know if it will work out, but if it were to work out it likely wouldn't be for a while. As for regular coupons, I'm not allowed to comment on future promotions buuuuut I wouldn't throw away any email from us in the next month or so without reading it ;)
