Cardboard Sleeve(Mini LP)

Great sound from this Great band Geordie, this album is Outstanding, A Masterwork! Must have if You are a Real Geordie fan and like Real good music from the ; 70. Thank you Geordie this band have giving me Many great times of Really good music, You are the Best band Ever!

Unfortunately I had ordered the European version containing the SACDs and 12 inch vinyl before this was notified for release. This is a far superior and lower cost package especially if you don’t want the vinyl. I gave up on vinyl and it’s frustrating inherent pops and crackles years ago and now concentrate on high end Japanese CD releases. This package is as usual superb with the stereo and mono releases and the packaging is first class right down to the two mono and stereo replica covers. Unfortunately by comparison the Beggars Banquet release did not include the mono mix. Not sure if the SACD remastering exceeds the 2002 release but this is worth the investment for the 7 inch size packaging. Get it while it is still available.

What reasons would you pick the more technical sounding album The Sweetest Sound (2003), over its more subtle and dark successor, Music of the Night (2005)? A few standout tracks. On the gentle side, you have Bonfa's The Gentle Rain. And Grenat's Drume Negrita has gorgeous, driving bass playing. Yes, I said 'technical'. Ugonna Okegwo and Grady Tate just play that way. Music aside though, according to my bias, what can really draw one's attention is the cover photography by Irina Ionesco, unmatched in monochromatic beauty! The sleeve is thick and the CD comes in an inner sleeve. My four stars are for the mastering. But if you don't compare The Sweetest Sound with its successor, you may not notice the 'sonic ice'.
