With a highly sophisticated and impeccably refined sound, this album is widely seen as the crowning work of Boz Scaggs' AOR period and marks the peak of his popularity. Under the direction of producer David Foster, the songs achieve remarkable polish, and the crisp and dynamic sound is supported by Jeff Porcaro on drums, David Hungate on bass, Steve Lukather on guitar, and Ray Parker Jr. on guitar. "Breakdown Dead Ahead" (US No.15) and "Jojo" (US No.17) were released as singles. A Japan tour was held at the time, and the concerts were so popular that they were broadcast on television. This Japan-only edition uses a hybrid disc with an SACD stereo layer and a CD stereo layer. Produced based on the 2023 remastered audio. 7-inch cardboard sleeve packaging faithfully reproduces the original LP artwork and comes with an obi strip (replica of the original Japanese edition). Also includes a reproduction jacket of the EP single cut from the album. Comes with newly written liner notes, lyrics and Japanese translations.
