FALSLANDER_RECLAIM Series Setting DocumentsnecoAn interesting art book for FalslanderThis is an excellent little art book, only 30 pages, that gives some very nice character studies for the Falslander characters that are also available as scale and figma figures. It is a tacit overview of key characters, so not an issue for those not speaking Japanese, there are very few words, but lots of art.

Dollybird Vol.29 Sweet Animal DollsHobby JapanDollybird 29Dollybird 29 focuses on smaller dolls, with a generous section dedicated to Nendoroid Dolls. The outifts are cleverly adapted two-in-ones, showing how the same pattern can be used for an entirely different design depending on colours a d material used and extra details that really make a difference. The article on different fabric types makes a very interesting read, showing how different weights of fabric can change the silhouette of an outfit, which is especially important for smaller figures. Please note that the books are published in Japanese, but translation apps can come in handy. A basic knowledge of patterns is all that’s needed to make most of the clothes - the step by step visuals are very clear and helpful.

Dollybird Vol.36 [Top Feature] be my baby! Cherry / Nendoroid Doll / QLY's little lambDollybird HenshubuDolly bird 36Another great volume of Dollybird, with the usual easy to follow patterns and interesting articles. This volume guides us through customising faceplates in the Nendoroid feature, as well as offering patterns for two types of outfits. There’s a large number of beautiful b.m.b outfits to chose from, too, which could be easily resized for similar dolls with a little skill.

Persona 5 Official Setting Art BookShukan FamitsuGreat care taken to deliver to meFirstly, I was very surprised this particular artbook was still available, because it was a 2016 release and it's highly coveted among fellow fans of Persona 5. However, when I saw they were doing a pre-order for another artbook that was released in May 2024 (more on that on another review), I decided I could no longer pass this up. I warn you that it's still pricy, but no more than other third-party shops are. I do think I was able to avail of this and three others via an ongoing promotion (possibly a birthday thing because my birthday was in March and I ordered this in April). That said, it's also a whopping 512 pages of full colour, and even if I don't read Japanese as well as I used to I can still appreciate it as a treasure trove for videogame design and production work. Now, I have to give major kudos to CDJapan. They figured out I would rather get this and my other artbooks in one delivery box, so even if the original order form said these would ship at an earlier date from the pre-order book's availability, they chose to pack them all in very carefully together in one box since it seemed the pre-order release came out a week early. And when I say carefully, each artbook was enclosed in bubble wrap, which was a godsend since only the pre-order book had its own separate wrapping; it was also slightly hilarious because the pre-order book also had a second layer of bubble wrap! So all the books came clean and pristine, with no damage whatsoever. I'm also glad that they came a week earlier than expected. I was always a bit wary of third-party stores selling merchandise from Japan, but this experience has proven completely worth it. I'm hoping some of the other artbooks I'm looking for are available again so that I can keep ordering from them!

Persona 5 the Royal Official Design WorksFamitsu HenshubuWorth the purchase from CDJapanFirstly, I was very surprised this particular Persona 5 artbook was still available, because it was a popular 2019 release and it is still highly desired among fans of the videogame series particularly because P5R/Persona 5 Royal has so many quality-of-life improvements and additional story/gameplay elements. When I saw CDJapan was doing a pre-order for another, non-Persona artbook that was released in May 2024 (more on that on another review), I decided I could no longer pass this up. I must warn you that it's still pricy, but no more than other third-party shops are. I do think I was able to avail of this and three others via an ongoing promotion (possibly a birthday thing because my birthday was in March and I ordered this in April). CDJapan deserves major kudos because they figured out I would rather get this and my other Persona 5 artbook orders in one delivery box. What ultimately happened was that despite the original order form saying these 3 artbooks would ship at an earlier separate date from the pre-order book's availability, they chose to pack them all in very carefully together in one box since it seemed the pre-order release came out a week early. And when I say carefully, each artbook was enclosed in bubble wrap, which was a godsend since only the pre-order book had its own separate wrapping; it was also slightly hilarious because the pre-order book also had a second layer of bubble wrap! Toboso Yana Art Book: Black Butler 1Yana TobosoPretty and elegantI like art books but would only recommend buying them if you have a great love for the artstyle. I think out of all the Black Butler art books this is probably my least favorite, but the book in of itself is beautiful. The cover has a nice hidden illustration and the paper is thick and pretty. Definitely a must-have.

Toboso Yana Art Book: Black Butler 2Yana TobosoFor anime watchersIf you're a manga only fan, then some characters here may be lost on you. Otherwise, all the illustrations are lovely and the book itself is made elegantly! I definitely love this!

FINAL FANTASY VII Series Special Book w/ Tote BagSQUARE ENIXA nice small book with a cute bagThe book contains the timeline of the Final Fantasy 7 compilation games, a piece of information about the games, from Final Fantasy 7 on the playstation to Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PS4. It has 15 pages, Unfortunately, the book doesn't have furigana for people who can't read Kanji. And it comes with a neat black bag, that has the logo of the games and there titles on it.

Rumiko Takahashi Original Drawings: COLORS 1978-2024Rumiko TakahashiA must-have for fansFirst of all, this book is absolutely massive at 400 pages of art. The illustrations have been printed at very high quality, the colours look vibrant and there are some interesting tidbits about individual comic pages and panels with commentary from Rumiko Takahashi. I especially loved seeing some of the colour pages from her older mangas. All in all, a wonderful look back on the many series and artworks Takahashi has done over the decades - a real walk down the memory lane for long-time fans. The book itself also has a lovely cover design and it feels very sturdy and high quality. This immediately became one of my favourite manga artbooks ever!
