The packaging, presentation and sound quality are a solid 5 stars, but I have to give the album itself 4. While good, this is my least favorite of the Hagar era albums. The first half of this album is great, but the second half (starting with Strung Out) isn't very inspired, at least to me. Take Me Back is a great track near the end of the album, but that's about it. The first half of this album has some quality Van Halen on it. Don't Tell Me What Love Can Do is a masterpiece and one of the best songs in the band's entire catalog. While it takes a lot of heat for the chorus, which I think is fine, Amsterdam is a favorite of mine because Edward's guitar riff on this song sounds like it was played on a guitar with barbed wire strings that are on fire while being played thru a nuclear powered guitar amp... just incredible! Big Fat Money is so manic, it's a perfect headbanger, and I love it when Edward's piano playing kicks in near the end of the song. Can't Stop Loving You is a solid pop song and Seventh Seal rocks and has dark atmosphere and sinister vibes for days. A really soldi album overall and the MQA format delivers Blu-ray audio quality sound at 24bit/96kHz. I love the mini LP packaging, but I must admit I was surprised and disappointed to see the original album cover art used and not the altered Japanese version, but this is a small critique.
