Description

Starring Tomoya Nagase, this legendary TV series -- known by the nickname "I.W.G.P." and based on the novel of the same name by Ira Ishida, as well as marking Kankuro Kudo's debut as a writer for a serial drama -- portrays the lives and attitudes of the youth culture of Ikebukuro. In 2003, three years have passed since Makoto Majima (Tomoya Nagase) put an end to the violent clashes among Ikebukuro's color gangs. Now forced to vacate his family's fruit shop, "Majima Fruits," Makoto has switched to selling fruit from a small truck. Although he remains Ikebukuro's go-to troubleshooter, his days have become uneventful, leaving him feeling both restless and aware of his age. One day, a homeless man approaches Makoto and asks him to find the culprit behind a series of attacks in Nishiguchi Park, where homeless people have been assaulted and left with broken bones. Makoto initially wants no involvement, but he is gradually drawn into the case and ends up living in a makeshift vinyl greenhouse shelter. Bonus footage (20 min) includes a collection of deleted scenes. This product is identical to the edition released on October 25, 2000.
