Ikebukuro West Gate Park Blu-ray COMPLETE BOX

Starring Tomoya Nagase, this legendary TV series -- known by the nickname "I.W.G.P." and based on the novel of the same name by Ira Ishida, as well as marking Kankuro Kudo's debut as a writer for a serial drama -- finally arrives in a long-awaited Blu-ray Box. Set in Ikebukuro, this coming-of-age mystery follows Makoto Majima (Tomoya Nagase), who works part-time at his family's fruit shop while also serving as a neighborhood troubleshooter, as he teams up with Takashi Ando (Yosuke Kubozuka), a key figure in the street gang G-Boys, to solve a series of difficult cases. In addition to Nagase and Kubozuka, the cast features then up-and-coming young actors such as Ai Kato, Tomohisa Yamashita, Satoshi Tsumabuki, Kenji Sakaguchi, Koyuki, Ryuta Sato, and Sadawo Abe, contributing to the show's explosive popularity and status as a major hit. Includes all 11 episodes. This product also contains the 2003 special drama "Ikebukuro West Gate Park: Soup Episode," presented in a complete version featuring 40 minutes of previously unreleased broadcast footage. Bonus footage for the main series (44 min) includes a collection of deleted scenes, while the Soup Episode bonus footage (25 min) features rare making-of material -- including interviews with Tomoya Nagase, Ai Kato, Satoshi Tsumabuki, Kenji Sakaguchi, Yosuke Kubozuka, and other principal cast members -- along with TV promo spots, a non-credit opening sequence, and a special 9-screen Ikebukuro chapter map.
