"Under Ninja" is a manga that depicts a new image of ninja hidden in modern society. Created by Kengo Hanazawa, known for several hit titles such as "I Am a Hero", the series was adapted into a TV anime in 2023. Praised for its realistic depictions, immersive worldbuilding, and gripping story, this wildly popular manga is now being adapted into a live-action film. Directed by Yuichi Fukuda. The lead role is played by Kento Yamazaki, with Minami Hamabe as the high school girl heroine.

Plot

Ninja... those who have long operated in the shadows of Japanese history. Though once thriving, their organizations were dismantled by the GHQ after the war and believed to have vanished. However, ninja still exist in secret and continue to operate around the world. Their numbers are said to reach 200,000. Among them is Kurou Kumogakure, a low-ranking ninja affiliated with "NIN," who struggles to find work. Living a listless life in a rundown apartment, one day he receives a major mission: to investigate a mysterious organization that has remained underground for over 70 years since the war. The name of the organization is Under Ninja, also known as "UN." Kurou goes undercover as a student at Koudan High School after hearing that "UN" may be hiding there. Ayaka Noguchi, a classmate, finds Kurou's behavior suspiciously un-teenlike but can't help being curious about him. Meanwhile, elite ninja from "NIN" are being attacked one after another by "UN." What is "UN" really after? And finally, the assault begins at Koudan High School...!
