Korean DJs: Night Tempo & Miso


Firstly, we introduce Korean DJs related to Japanese music.

NightTempo is a famous DJ known for remixing Japanese city pop songs.
He doesn't only remix pop tunes but also produces his original songs.

His album "NEO STANDARD" mainly features Japanese female artists deeply involved in 80-90s idol songs and city pop, such as Kaoru Akimoto, Kyoko Koizumi, Maki Nomiya, and more.

His music genre is known as Future Funk, and it gained popularity around the world through his contributions.
Future Funk is the coexistence of Japanese city pop and idol songs with elements of House music and Funk through remixing.


Another Korean DJ active in Japan is Miso. She has remixed "Marunouchi Sadistic" included in Ringo Sheena's work "Hyakuyaku no Cho."

Gongjoong Doduk, also known as "Mid-Air Thief" is a home recording artist from South Korea.
He has released two works from the Japanese label "Botanical House," hosted by the Japanese band Lamp.
In 2022, he released the work "Flood Format" under the name of "Bird's Eye Batang."



Say Sue Me is a four-piece indie rock band.
Their musical style has been described as "surf rock" or "surfgaze."
The band is influenced by 60's surf rock and 90's indie rock tunes such as music by Yo La Tengo, Pavement, Blur, Seam, The Ventures, and Cat Power.
