The Neighbor No. 13 (Rinjin 13-go)

This week sees the DVD release of "The Neighbor No. 13," Santa Inoue's famous psycho-suspense manga turned movie. Violent and shocking, "The Neighbor No. 13" tells the story of a young man split by a childhood of bullying into opposing personalities, the weak and the strong. After years of living normally with his two personalities, a new bully moves into his life. As the stronger personality, "The Neighbor No. 13," takes control to protect our hero, things spiral towards a blood-curdling, terrifying conclusion.
Shun Oguri and Shido Nakamura star as the two sides of our schizophrenic character, with a cameo from Japan's extreme cinema legend (and heavy cinematic influence to the film) Takashi Miike. Directed by acclaimed music video director Yasuo Inoue.
