Hyde and Chiaki Kuriyama in "Kagen no Tsuki - Last Quarter"

Kagen no Tsuki - Last Quarter (English Subtitles) - L'Arc-en-Ciel lead singer HYDE, Kill Bill's Chiaki Kuriyama and newcomer Hiroki Narimiya star in this adaptation of Ai Yazawa's (of "Gokinjo Monogatari" fame) popular comic by director Ken Nikai.

This bittersweet tale of love follows 19 year-old Muzuki (Kuriyama, playing the "good" girl for the first time). On her birthday, she follows a haunting melody to an old house. Despondent at having just broken up with her boyfriend, her spirits are lifted when meets Adam (HYDE), quickly realizing they are soul mates. The couple vow to meet a week later, under the last quarter of the moon. Unfortunately, Muzuki never makes the rendezvous. She winds up in the hospital, comatose after being hit by a car. However, while her body lies in the hospital, her consciousness is trapped within the old house, unable to escape.

The three disc Limited Edition includes the theatrical version (disc 1), an extended director's cut (Disc 2) and the 3rd disc is stuffed with bonus materials, including trailers, TV Spots, deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes footage, a shooting diary and photo gallery. Also included is an interview with HYDE and a music video for the theme song "The Cape of Storms."

This film reminds you that there is a highly-anticipated album ("Black Stones" version / "Trapnest" version) dedicated to Ai Yazawa's "Nana" which is the number one comic for girls in Japan. The tribute album features the artists including Ai Otsuka, Tommy heavenly6, and Tetsu 69, who are the comic fans themselves.
