Godzilla Final Wars

Godzilla rocks! After half a century, Toho's biggest star has made a contemporary film. Director Ryuhei Kitamura has put his own stamp on the series with "Godzilla Final Wars." His fan base hasn't been disappointed with the film's kinetic, frenetic pace and dark moody atmosphere. Breaking another tradition, Kitamura asked Keith Emerson to create a score so different from the symphonic works of the past films. If you really want to wake even the dead, there's a limited edition DVD-Audio with the score in both Dolby Surround 2.0 and 5.1.

Also available is G.Lasts - Tribute to GODZILLA 50th, an album that features 11 musical accolades to everybody's favorite birthday boy. This isn't just a slap dash compilation of rock music, but a true companion piece to the 50th anniversary film. Five tracks, by such top bands as Zebrahead, Stereolab, and Felix Da Housecat take Akira Ifukube's famous theme and turn it on its head. Stereohead does a remarkable job of adapting kaiju howls into musical notes. The opening track, Sum 41's earsplitting "We're All To Blame" actually appears in the film as Godzilla takes on Zilla, the American wanna-be in Sidney, Australia. Keith Emerson's theme for the Gohten battleship appears on the last track.

Lastly, Important Reminder! "GODZILLA FINAL BOX" is available for preordering until January 11, 2005 only. Make sure to place your preorder before this date.
