"Tokyo Family" by Yoji Yamada

Yoji Yamada, who is the film director best known for his "Otoko wa Tsurai yo" series and his Samurai Trilogy "The Twilight Samurai," "The Hidden Blade" and "Love and Honor," brings the film "Tokyo Kazoku (Tokyo Family)" on DVD and Blu-ray. This is his fiftieth anniversary work, and music is composed by Joe Hisaishi.

Plot: An old married couple Shukichi Hirayama and Tomiko, who live in a small island of Seto Inland Sea, go to Tokyo to meet their 3 children. The eldest son Koichi runs a hospital. The first daughter Shigeko runs a beauty salon. The second son Shuji works in stage art. At first they care for each other, however. . .
