Nobody to watch over me


Be sure to check out on DVD release of the film "Nobody to watch over me (Daremo Mamotte Kurenai)," the winner of the Best Screenplay award at the 2008 Montreal World Film Festival! Directed by Ryoichi Kimizuka and stars Koichi Sato. Release date is September 2, 2009.

Plot: An ordinary four-people family lives the mundane daily life. But one sudden day, a minor eldest son of the family arrested on suspicion of murdering two grade school girls. A police detectives Katsuura and Mishima are ordered to protect the suspect's family against the relentless pursuit of the media and the inevitable public outrage. So, Saori, the 15-year-old girl of the family, is protected by Katsuura, who has a daughter of same age. Gradually, she establishes an emotional bond with him because he desperately tries to protect her dignity. While Saori is touched by additional tragedies, how they can find any hope in the future?
