The Witch of the West is Dead (Nishi no Majo ga Shinda) comes to DVD!

This is a quiet masterpiece. Check out the upcoming DVD "The Witch of the West is Dead (Nishi no Majo ga Shinda)" featuring English Subtitles. The movie is based on a popular children's novel by Nashiki Kaho, and it stars Sachi Parker and a newcomer Mayu Takahashi. Includes booklet.

Mai, a junior high school student, refuses to go to school and stays with her grandmother for a while for a change. What a change it turns out to be. Her grandmother gives her a training as a witch, and the most important lesson she learns reveals how important everyday life is. This is a fantastic story that is
heartwarming and comforting at the same time.

Also check out the theme song of the movie sung by Aoi Teshima, "Niji." She is a famous as a voice artist in Hayao Miyazaki's anime "Tales from Earthsea (Gedo Senki)" and highly acclaimed singer with the theme, "Teru no Uta."
