Naruyoshi Kikuchi Dub Sextet - Dub Orbits

This week Japanese jazz giant Naruyoshi Kikuchi returns with the second full-length album from his acclaimed Naruyoshi Kikuchi Dub Sextet. Titled "Dub Orbits," the new album shows just what new directions Kikuchi plans to push jazz.
The new album follows up the Naruyoshi Kikuchi Dub Sextet's breakthrough album "The Revolution Will Not Be Computerized" with more experimentations in Miles Davis and Ornette Coleman inspired bop. In addition, brace yourself for further experiments in alternate music styles like the funk of track "Monkey Mush Down, break-beat/hip-hop influence of "Dismissing Lounge From Limbo," and even a striking new rendition of the Miles Davis Quintet track "Orbits." "Dub Orbits" was recorded in New York City by Tom Coyne of Sterling Sound (Tribe Called Quest / Janet Jackson).
