Megane from Naoko Ogigami

Director Naoko Ogigami and the rest of the staff and cast of hit film "Kamome Shokudo (Ruokala Lokki)" return for the brand-new film "Megane." Nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at this year's Sundance Film Festival, "Megane" is coming soon to DVD!

Satomi Kobayashi ("Kamome Shokudo") stars as Taeko, a middle-aged woman who travells by propeller plane to a small beach town. As she passes through the sun-drenched town, a pleasant breeze blows off the ocean and sweeps over a variety of odd characters in various states of retirement. In a town with no cell phone service and a variety of eccentric characters played by cast members Mikako Ichikawa ("Ranpo Jigoku"), Masako Motai ("Kamome Shokudo"), Ken Mitsuishi ("Noriko's Dinner Table"), and others, Taeko finds herself warming to her own retirement, and finally settling down.

Naoko Okigami's "Megane" is coming March 19, 2008. "Kamome Shokudo" also available.
