Shinji Aoyama's Sad Vacation

Acclaimed director Shinji Aoyama's entry into this year's Venice International Film Festival, is out now on DVD! Heavyweights Tadanobu Asano, Aoi Miyazaki, and Joe Odagiri star in the new film, titled "Sad Vacation."

"Sad Vacation" marks the third film in Aoyama's trilogy featuring the films "Eureka" and "Helpless." Aoi Miyazaki reprises her role from "Eureka" as the survivor of a brutal bus massacre who has now taken refuge at a transportation company come surrogate family of outcasts headed by the kind hearted Mr. Mamiya. Meanwhile, Tadanobu Asano plays Kenji, an orphaned former smuggler who's decision to help a child resulted in the death of a friend and the pursuit of the mob. When his path crosses that of Mr. Mamiya, he finds console, hope, and the infuriating truth that the mother who abandoned him is now the mother of Mr. Mamiya's children. As Kenji's desires for acceptance and retribution spiral into one another, the entire cast of characters explores the true meaning of loss.

Order "Sad Vacation" to receive the main feature plus premium edition bonus disc with making-of footage, film festival footage, documentary, and uncut version of the "Akihiko's Room" segment. Hiroyuki Nagashima's score for the film is also available. "Sad Vacation" was released on DVD February 27, 2008!
