Dororo Comes to DVD


Dororo

The live-action film adaptation of Osamu Tezuka's "Dororo" is out now on DVD! Satoshi Tsumabuki ("Waterboys") stars as Hyakkimaru across Kou Shibasaki ("One Missed Call") in the titular roll of Dororo.

An unborn child is fortold to hold power tremendous enough to destroy the 48 majin rulers of Warring States-era Japan. In a plea for safety, the majin promise the father of the boy eternal victory in warfare in exchange for 48 parts of the boy's body which were to be divided amidst the majin . . . Years after the boy has been spared by a kind doctor, this boy has become Hyakkimaru, set on destroying each of the 48 majin and restoring the various pieces of his body. At his side is a crafty and boastfull thief named Dororo.
