Part Chemical Brothers, part "Operation Mindcrime," "Year Zero," sees Trent Reznor and company looking back on themes of addiction, religion, and politics with a dark, minimal blend of chaos, glitch, big-beat, and anger. "Year Zero" also marks NIN's highly-anticipated return to the concept album format with a distopian vision of America 15 years in the future. In a bubbling cauldron of drug-sedated citizens, a religious and fascist government, and paranoid rebels, Reznor channels Steven King and unleashed "The Presence" which may or may not be the hand of God.
Nine Inch Nails' new album "Year Zero" come out one week early on April 11, 2007 in Japan with an estimated length of 15 tracks plus one Japan-only bonus track. Keep an eye out for single "Survivalism," "My Violent Heart," and "Me, I'm not," coming soon. For information on the alternate reality game linked to the album, try the Wikipedia page for the album.
