Kuchu Teien - Hanging Gardens

The DVD release of one of Japan's top films of 2005, "Kuchu Teien" is out now. The release is available in a regular and special edition which both include English subtitles.

Directed by Toshiaki Toyoda ("9 Souls," "Pornostar"), "Kuchu Teien" tells the story of a harsh mother (Kyoko Koizumi) who commands that her family keep no secrets. What starts as a heartful and occasionally funny film at the start declines into a melancholic journey when the mother slowly learns just how truthful everyone has been. With a story based off of author Mitsuyo Kakuta's masterpiece of the same name, and skilled direction, "Kuchu Teien" is a film not to be missed.

Regular edition of the film includes the main feature with English subtitles. Special edition of the film includes special features disc and bonus soundtrack CD with the instrumentals from the film.
