Yonna in the Solitary Fortress

Yonna and her older brother live in a fortress on the edge of humanity in order to protect Yonna from the hunters that threaten to steal her away for her strange powers. Her necessarily lonely life comes to an abrupt end when she encounters a friendly young stranger. As a monster slowly creeps into the head of her brother, Yonna finds that she must flee the fortress with her new friend.

"Yonna In The Solitary Fortress" ("Hanare Toride no Yonna") is the latest computer animation release from Kengo Takeuchi. You may know Takeuchi for his work on "Final Fantasy the Spirits Within," but what you might not know is that since then he has been working at the epicenter of Japan's burgeoning independant computer animators scene. The film is set to debut at the Tokyo Anime Fair next week and is already making quite a buzz among otaku.
