Linda Linda Linda

Fresh on the heals of the band boom craze in Japan, Nobuhiro Yamashita's "Lind Linda Linda" is coming soon to DVD!
Gathering its strength from its uncharacteristaclly subtle portraits of teenagers, "Linda Linda Linda" has been a hit amongst critics since its debut last year. Shiori Sekine, Aki Maeda, and Yu Kashii star as three high school girls set on performing at their school talent show. They have two problems, they can hardly play their instruments, and even if they could the band still doesn't have a singer. Desperate, they pick up the first person they come across--a Korean girl (played by Du-Na Bae of "Sympathy For Lady Vengeance") who hardly speaks a lick of Japanese--and their problems are now threefold. However, Yamashita dials down the tension for a refreshing focus on character, leading to one of the best films to come out of Japan last year.
Pick up "Linda Linda Linda," out February 22. Original soundtrack to the film by James Iha of the Smashing Pumpkins out now!
