NORIKIYO, who received a three-year prison sentence in 2023, recently completed his term and announced the release of his 13th album. This work, titled with the initials of "Life Is Very Short.," had already been completed before his imprisonment in 2023. Originally prepared as the final work to be released during his incarceration, it was nearly shelved after he was granted parole earlier than expected. However, due to the overwhelming number of requests from fans at live venues and online fan events asking for its release, he filmed a music video after his release and the album is finally released on August 7, 2026. "Sinner's Excuse" was recently released digitally as the advance single from this 13-track album. The song, whose title means "the ramblings of a sinner," had already been completed in 2019, making it particularly intriguing in light of his later imprisonment. 2023年に懲役3年の実刑判決を受けたNORIKIYOが先日、刑の満期を迎え、自身13枚目のアルバムをリリースすることを発表した。「Life Is Very Short.」の頭文字を冠した今作は2023年に収監される前には既に完成していた作品。本来ならば収監中にリリースする最後の作品として用意されていた今作だが予定より早く仮釈放となった為、お蔵入りとなる所だったがライブ会場での声やファンとのオンライン交流会などで「リリースして欲しい」という声があまりにも多く、それに応える形で出所後にミュージックビデオを撮影し、満を持して2026年8月7日にリリースされることとなった。13曲を収録した今作から先行シングルとして「Sinner's Excuse」が先日配信された。「罪人の戯言」を意味するタイトルのこの先行配信の楽曲は2019年には完成していた曲であるが、その後自身が罪人として収監されたことを考えると興味深い。国の指定難病に罹患し、自身の未来を憂いたのだろうか「人生は短い」と題されたこのニューアルバムはどんな内容となっているのだろうか。それは8月7日に明らかになるだろう。
