Little Games [Cardboard Sleeve (mini LP)] [SHM-CD] [Limited Release]

WOW, this is one of the best cardboard releases in a long time, this was always considered the rare yardbirds record as the band had major line up changes by 1967 and the young session player named jimmy page had a big hand in the making of this record, this was kind of always known as the lost rare yardbirds record for whatever reason, the bonus tracks on this awesome cd set is just flawless and this sounds as great as the lp in my opinion, this is a very well done deluxe version of this great record and im so happy to have this, listening to this again sure brings back fantastic memories and it has never sounded better, the japan lp replication sleeve is perfect to, if you are a fan of jimmy page or the yardbirds this album belongs in your collection it is a great, great opus!!!!

This album is great , SHM sound is excellent...i like the mono mix on the first disc. BBC tracks are great. The Mini LP's are very nice quality. Little Games was a great and very interesting album especially for it's time...very original...Jimmy Page had a hand in co writing a lot of this album and it shows how original and inventive his playing already is before Zeppelin. Lots of good catchy tunes. This is 1967 in swinging London and this album definitely has that feel...psychedelia and all that. I like this album and Roger the Engineer....two great albums. You can see the progression in Little Games....the Yardbirds were still a great band even though this was their last album.....This was the beginning for Page and he was primed for greater heights! Great job Japan.......highly recommended!

This 2-disc SHM-CD set would seem to include everything from all previous CD editions of "Little Games,.but not quite. If you already own the 1993 U.S.A. 2-CD set "The Little Games Sessions and More", hold onto it, because this new set doesn't include the 1991 Ron Furmanek/Kevin Reeves remix of the 10 "Little Games" album tracks. Instead, the stereo version of the album is represented here (mostly) by the inferior 1967 mixes(excepting "Smile on Me" & "Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor, which are 2003 remixes by an uncredited Uk engineer) However this 2 CD set does include the original mono mix of the album, the mostly 1967 stereo mix, plus all of the bonus tracks from "The Little Games Sessions and More" and the 2003 UK CD. There is also a previously unreleased alternate mix of "Together Now", by Keith Relf & JimMcCarty's post-Yardbirds group "Together"
