コブクロ、2022年初のCDリリースとなる通算34枚目のシングル。タイトル曲「この地球(読み: ほし)の続きを」は、自身もアンバサダーを務め、2025年に開催される大阪・関西万博オフィシャルテーマソングで、老若男女、誰もが口ずさめるようなシンプルなメロディに、2025年の万博の開幕までの期待感とその先の希望を描いた壮大な楽曲。カップリングには、2022年3月に行われた、コブクロ史上初となる東京・大阪でのファンサイト会員限定ライブにて初披露された「Days」と、2011年の全国ツアー"あの太陽が、この世界を照らし続けるように。"にて初披露され、その後、音源化されないまま10年以上の時を経て、今回が待望の初音源化となる「恋愛観測 (LIVE ver. from KOBUKURO LIVE TOUR 2011 "あの太陽が、この世界を照らし続けるように。")」を収録。
