Eternal Harmony / 菊池桃子
デビューから本日まで、多くのスタッフやリスナーとともに"Harmony"を奏でてきた菊池桃子。それを、今後もずっと"Eternal"に育てたいという自身の願いを込めて、本作セルフプロデュースを行った。そこには、全ての人への感謝の気持ちを込めた"愛を贈る"という普遍的なテーマがある。菊池桃子の初となるEP作品の1曲目を飾ったのは、ホリエアツシ (ストレイテナー)が担当した楽曲「星の蜃気楼」。この曲では、誰かとの繋がりが心に明かりを灯す、人間の心の普遍性を表現。「もうすぐ0時」は、菊池と内澤崇仁 (androp)のデュエット曲。日付の変わる「0時」というワードを用いて、新しい日が始まりや、特別な日の訪れを告げる。菊池桃子という歌手が歩んできた歴史が歌詞の中に散りばめられており、40周年を祝福したアニバーサリーソングに仕上がっている。そして、本作の最後を締めくくる「Starry Sky」は、菊池自身が作詞作曲を担当。いつの時代も人々に寄り添い輝く星空の世界をリスナーと共有する楽曲で、編曲は恩師・林哲司が担当するという豪華な1曲。どの曲が欠けても本作は完成しなかったと思える、そんな作品に仕上がった。是非、その詩とその音に身を委ねるように、じっくりと聴いてほしい。
