another total classic by Steppenwolf, this was there third album in 1969 and this lp delivered 2 of my favorite Steppenwolf songs ROCK ME & ITS NEVER TO LATE, as with the previous 2 lps this album rocks just as hard as they do with that killer raw sound the band had back in these days, the remastering is awesome and the lp jacket was replicated just perfect here as the others are, I don't know how or why Steppenwolf did not play Woodstock in 69 as by the time of that festival the band had these first 3 killer albums to there name and where ( from what I understand) a roaring live force to be reckoned with, I really do not feel there was a bad song on this album, it is 100% heavy all the way through and now 45 years on I still don't feel Steppenwolf get the credit they deserved for all this real heavy hard rock at this time when it was more cool to be a hippie, anyway this album as the first two sure has stood the test of time and it sounds as great now as it did back then, I wish I could have cought Steppenwolf back in these days wich is the dark side for me, the bright side is if I had id be a senior citizen now so either way I loose out, these great shm mastered papersleeves seem to be moving fast so as I said in my last review of the second album id be quick if you want to get these for it was the first few albums that where the best!!!!!! also this disc features great mono versions of some of the stereo tracks as do the first two albums..

Customer Reviews
Rocking out a little more, Steppenwolf hit gold again with this release. The hit, "Rock Me" sat well alongside such other hits as "Jupiter Child" and "Don't Cry." Even so, it has a rather unsettling feel to it. It was almost as if all their success was beginning to turn sour. Okay, but a bit flawed. At Your Birthday Party is the third studio album by Steppenwolf, released in 1969 on the label ABC Dunhill Records. It was the first Steppenwolf album to feature bass player Nick St. Nicholas. Although it was less critically acclaimed than their successful first two albums, Steppenwolf and The Second, it contains a few well-known hits, such as "It's Never Too Late" and "Jupiter's Child", as well as the colossal "Rock Me," which had been featured in the 1968 film Candy. Although the band would be very successful in the early 1970s, 'At Your Birthday Party' was to be their last top ten album and features their last top ten single. The album showcases Steppenwolf coming out of, but not yet completely abandoning, the psychedelia of Steppenwolf the Second and stepping into the distinctive hard rock of their later releases. 01.
