Description

Friedrich Gulda, who worked beyond the boundaries between classical music and jazz, performs his own composition, the "Sonata Concertante for Piano and Orchestra", also known as "Concerto for Myself", written in 1988. This is a live recording from July of that year, in which Gulda himself served as both pianist and conductor, with electric bass and drums added to the Munich Philharmonic. The Amadeo release, which also includes the final movement of Mozart's Sonata K. 284 and F. Couperin's "Le Rossignol-en-amour" played on the clavichord, is reissued on SHM-CD. Green-colored label coat. [Performers] Michael Helmrath (oboe [1]), Wayne Darling (electric bass [1]), Michael Honzak (drums [1]), Friedrich Gulda (piano, conductor [1], piano [2], clavichord [3]), Munich Philharmonic Orchestra (1). Recorded July 1988 (live) (1), 1981 (2, 3), Munich.
