Classical Music

Starker’s virtuoso album features excellent playing, as expected. The cello has a pleasing tone, and the sound quality is good overall. It is an enjoyable listen and a solid album that I’m happy to have in my collection.

Starker’s recording of Bach’s gamba sonatas offers solid Denon sound quality, capturing the cello’s tone beautifully. I would have enjoyed a little more edge and bite in the cello sound, but it is still a rewarding listen. Starker’s performances are excellent throughout, and overall, I’m pleased with this album.
