Description
[Machine Translation] [Monteverdi's first church music, "The Evening Prayer of the Virgin Mary," was composed around 1610. Monteverdi, who had written only secular music, became the music director of St. Mark's Basilica after composing this work, and dedicated his life to God. This album, which won the 1991 Recording Academy Grand Prize, was recorded live at the Basilica of San Marco, where Monteverdi was rector. This is Gardiner's second recording, and the most ideal performance of this definitive recording, which has been highly acclaimed in many countries. [準新譜/アンコールプレス: モンテヴェルディ生誕450年 アルヒーフ NEW BEST 50] 1610年頃に作曲されたモンテヴェルディ初の教会音楽「聖母マリアの夕べの祈り」。世俗音楽ばかり書いていたモンテヴェルディは、この作品を作曲したのち、サン・マルコ寺院の楽長に就任し、その一生を神に捧げた。このアルバムは1991年レコード・アカデミー大賞を受賞したもので、モンテヴェルディが学長を務めていたサン・マルコ大聖堂でライヴ録音されたもの。ガーディナー2度目の録音で、もっとも理想的な演奏として各国で高い評価を得た決定盤。録音: 1989年5月ベニス、7月ロンドン [演奏] モンテヴェルディ合唱団、ロンドン・オラトリー少年合唱団、イングリッシュ・バロック・ソロイスツ、指揮: ジョン・エリオット・ガーディナー
