Description

[Machine Translation] A monumental masterpiece of domestic opera by Minoru Miki and Jakucho Setouchi! The first opera script written by Jakucho Setouchi! This is the culmination of Minoru Miki's musical techniques, which fuse traditional Asian instruments with Western music. This is a magnificent love story about a young man who went to China as an envoy to the Tang Dynasty in the 8th century Nara Period to bring back the secret Biwa piece "Ai-on" to China, and his twin sisters. The highlight of the work is the performance of the secret biwa piece "Ai-Don" by Sizuka Yang Jing, a Chinese biwa virtuoso who is very active not only in his native China but also in Japan, Europe, and the United States. She has performed at the British Proms, with Kurt Masur & the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, and with legendary jazz drummer Max Roach, and her astonishing technique and deep musicality transcend genres to the delight of the full house of the New National Theatre!
Special Feature / Bonus Track: interview between songwriter and scriptwriter
