[Machine Translation] The world of drag racing as depicted by a genius director! David Cronenberg's 1978 film is being released on disc for the first time in Japan! Cronenberg's unique sense of alienation has been subdued, and the film is told in a very straightforward manner. This is one of the most unique films in Cronenberg's filmography. The cinematography is by Mark Irwin, who has participated in many of Cronenberg's films, including "Videodrome" ('82) and "The Fly" ('86). The film features strong performances by William Smith ("Dirty Fighter") and John Saxon ("Burning Dragon"), two actors with strong personalities. --Ronnie "Lucky Man" Johnson, a popular drag racer in the U.S., leads a team called "Fast Company" with his friends and spends his time traveling to various circuits. Miraculously, Ronnie is uninjured, but the accident leads to a confrontation with the corrupt sponsor Phil Adamson, and he is permanently banned from the racing world. Out of desperation, Ronnie and his team try to recover their beloved car and race again, but a terrible trap is set...
