Description

[Machine Translation] The only violin concerto by Edward Elgar, the father of modern British music, famous for "Dashing" and "Love Greeting," was premiered in 1910 with Kreisler as soloist and Elgar as conductor, and was dedicated to Kreisler. In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of its premiere in 2010, Snyder, the winner of the Elisabet Competition (1997), who was acclaimed by Menuhin as "the successor to Ysaye," recorded the work using the famous Guarneri del Gesu (1741) instrument that Kreisler used. The performance is described as "a revival of the old violin school established by such masters as Kreisler, Heifetz, Mirshtein, and Menuhin.
