山本精一「うたもの」の原点、羅針盤。リトルモア・レコーズ時代の作品がリイシュー決定!! 羅針盤サウンドの完成型とまで言わしめた大傑作『ソングライン』のアプローチとは明らかに異なるサウンド・プロダクションを展開する4枚目の作品。「うた」を中心に据えながらもノイジーでカオティックかつトランシーな即興的要素が有機的にほぐれつ絡みつ重層的な響きをもった「音」の壁を作り出す。既存のタームでは到底語ることのできない新たな世界観を提示した表題曲"はじまり"は、約17分におよぶ大作。このアルバムからドラムスがチャイナ、ベースが柴田篤になり、オリジナル・メンバーの須原敬三、CONVEX LEVELの前川謙一がゲストとして参加している。紙ジャケット仕様。 (2002年作品)
